Has anyone ever been to

Boys r us wrote: a purse party before?

I went to one last night! We had a lot of fun!!

I got a cool purse too! Can't wait until it's here!

Basically you go tot he party and the party hostess has swatches of all of the material to choose from, you completely design your own purse!!!

Here's a website just to kind of explain what I mean!

Purse Party

Maddie&EthansMom replied: How cute are those?? I saved it to my favorites so I could browse thru it more later. thumb.gif

Boys r us replied: Aimee, you can actually buy some online too! But you don't have the selection like you do with the party. I guess the ones they sell online are made from the most popluar fabric, where as at the parties, you really con pick from any of the swatches!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I might check into having a party around the holidays. biggrin.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: That sounds fun! I haven't heard of anything like that here! I am addicted to purses so it might be better that I haven't heard about them! blush.gif emlaugh.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: There are no reps in Texas. unsure.gif

coasterqueen replied: Oh now neat! I've never heard of it before. Can you tell me roughly how expensive they run? This is a great idea for my sister for Christmas!

NikkiM replied: I haven't, but it sounds very fun!

Boys r us replied: Anywhere from $50 to $200

Kaitlin'smom replied: that sounds like fun...hummm I will have to check it out

no reps in my area either sad.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Cool thanks. thumb.gif The lower end is in my price range. I'll have to check it out!

TANNER'S MOM replied: Oh that is so neat..

No rep here either.. it is prob a good thing..
You will have to show us yours when you get it!

mckayleesmom replied: OMG...I just looked into becoming a rep...your start up fee would be 400 dollars and you only make 15% of whatever you sell....what a rip.

I ment 400 dollars to start up.

Boys r us replied: It's not a rip girl!!!!!!! Think about it..you have a party and say there is only 10 people there..and an average price for a decent size purse is $100..well that's 1,000 in sales from 1 party. So you just made $150 bucks in 2 hours! The start up isn't bad either, a lot of places like Mary Kay, the start up is an investment of like $600 bucks!

mckayleesmom replied: maybe...but the start up fee is pretty pricey to me. And 15% isn't all that much to me. One advantage I would have is that I would be the only representitive in the state of Kentucky... rolling_smile.gif

My2Beauties replied: I've heard of these and had a friend go to one not too long ago don't know if it's the same company though unsure.gif She didn't say much about it. Those sound neat!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I wanted to do one for my Hot Mama's Club this Sunday, but couldn't find one with decent products. I found one with really cheesy bags. I wouldn't buy them, so why would I make my friends?? But I love these bags!!...I haven't checked if they're in my area...I doubt it...but maybe I'll start up one!! Thanks Nichole!

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Depends on who recruits you... you don't HAVE to buy product. The 'start-up fee' is only 150$, and THAT is mandatory - it's the briefcase, the mirros, and a start-up pack of product so you can do a few classes with sample etc.

My director was really nice - she didn, tMAKE you buy product. If you want to be considered for stars though, then yeah, the minimum order is I think 600$ to qualify in one month. Some directors are really stingy and really really encourage you to buy the product in advance. But you can do it buy just placing the orders you need. It's a 50% profit though. What sells for 30$ + tax, you buy for 15$ + tax on 30$ - but you get the tax back when you do your return. Which is done by a Mary Kay accountant.

I did this, because I had the money and thought it would get me some extra cash. It did... but now I have lots and lots of products that I can't seem to find the time to get rid of. dry.gif

Anyhoo - enough about my MaryKay-ness!! tongue.gif

I've never been to a purse party... I don't wear purses - I can't seem to find one big enough for the crap I lug around!!! rolling_smile.gif Does sound like fun though!

A&A'smommy replied: That is SOOO neat!!! thumb.gif

LOL Rocky thank you she is right nichole Mary-kay wasn't that much and I LOVE it!
