Schnoogly replied: Nope. I can't even put the laundry in the dryer without Iain throwing a screaming fit so I'm guessing anything fun is out. He is only (barely) happy when I pay direct attention to him on the floor, or while I'm carrying him around. If I move more than 3 feet away from him he throws a fit.

We went to the mall to do some Christmas shopping and get Iain his first shoes (size 5 1/2W!!!) and it was just awful. He screamed the whole way there, did not want to ride in the back carrier but had to be on my front where he can grab everything and throw it on the floor (apparently on my back is still too far away from me) Everywhere around me were babies sleeping in strollers or cooing happily, toddlers sipping out of actual sippy cups they held themselves (I can't even imagine!)and if I even try to put him near a stroller he freaks. I am so jealous of all of you who get to leave your houses without complete meltdown!!! How come my baby won't sleep in a stroller? What kind of horrible mother was I in a past life??

I'm getting kind of tired of this can you tell? Anyone want to borrow a very smart but totally impossible almost-toddler for a month?? He's very entertaining, you can give him that. Also, you will build massive arm and back strength from carrying his 21lb self around 6+ hours per day.

Steph, it sounds like you need to get a sitter for a few hours -- someone who won't mind if Iain throws a little fit. He might even be good for a sitter, like how he surprised you at daycare. You need to get out... just you and your DH. Doesn't your birthday sound like the perfect occasion? You deserve it! And, Iain will be ok for a few hours without you. Just a suggestion, and I hope you take it. Too bad I don't live close to you, I'd love to get ahold of that georgous blue-eyed doll for a few hours.

Schnoogly replied: M2A we are going to get his sitter to watch him while we go see ROTK in a couple weeks. And go eat sushi!! I can't wait! Wednesdays just don't work for us--our sitter is too far away near my work. I am so lucky I found her--she seems to be able to put up with all his moods and takes wonderful care of him for a bargain.

Thanks! He would wear Ashley out that's for sure. Maybe she can teach him about eating whole baked potatoes though??

I know what it's like not having any time to yourself. Robbie was a very happy baby, and Anthony is a total oppisite. Always wants to be held, can't leave him alone for more then a few minutes. Just think, if you have a second, you'll probably luck out and get an easy baby. Hugs to ya, I hope things get better for you soon
