MomToMany replied: Thanks everyone. It wasn't much of a "happy" birthday. The kids have been asking for the last week how many days til my birthday, so we did a countdown of sorts. Well, my birthday comes, and not a single happy birthday from them. DH said it to me before he went to work. So the day starts a little bummed for me.

Then DH comes home from work early at 10:00, which I didn't know he was going to do. So he says we should go grocery shopping, and get me some birthday presents, etc. We leave home at about 10:45 (I had to finish up the cables I had to do, get the kids ready to go, etc). So far so good. We get to Grand Rapids about 12:00, so we stop to have lunch. Still doing good. Next we go to Wal-Mart for my presents and other stuff. I got to pick out my own presents , which irritated me a little. So I'm a littrle grumpy at that point. DH gets upset because I didn't let him get a movie he wanted, so he's acting like a big baby. We get done there, and go grocery shopping next. I got to pick out my birthday cake too, which is better than last year. I made my own last year. Ethan, Hannah, and Kayla have been angels all day.

So, then I asked DH if it was too late for me to register to vote (I haven't registered since I moved ). He said it was; you had to be registered since last Thursday. Well, I didn't know that, and he said he heard it on the news. I said why didn't you tell me, I would've made a special trip to do it. He said in a real pissy way that he was sorry, that he thought I knew. So I'm upset, we don't talk the whole way home (over an hour drive). We get home about 3:00. His friend shows up at the same time. Kayla needs to be fed, there's groceries to put away, and he's out there yaking. So I feed Kayla, and start hauling all the groceries in myself and start putting them away. DH carries the last few bags, then procedes to sit in the recliner and doesn't get up for the next 2.5 hours. I didn't think I should have to cook on my birthday, and DH wasn't going to get out of his chair, so I ordered burger specials from the cafe in town (MIL owns & cooks there, but she had the day off. It's her birthday too). We have cake & ice cream after supper, and I open my present from my mom. I got some new PJ's, body wash, socks, and a cute Halloween kitchen towel. I bought the movies Aladdin and The Day After Tomorrow for myself. DH proceeds to fall asleep in the chair while I'm trying to talk to my sister long-distance. The kids are being awful, he's snoring, so I have to hang up with my sister. I tell the kids it's time for bed, and thank DH for all of his wonderful help . The kids get to bed, and we watch The Day After Tomorrow. He falls asleep less than half-way through it. I can barely hear it with him snoring, but I don't want to turn it up more or the kids would wake up. So, I didn't even get t o enjoy my movie.

What a happy birthday I had . I can never win.

His birthday was Oct. 5th. But I'll remember his behavior at Christmas.
