moped wrote: Do you guys use it on your kids????????? I do sometimes, but then I started thinking maybe something in it was bad for them????
six_kids_at_28 replied: Sometimes if we have to use a public restroom or somthing else that is a public place I put some Purell on it. I don't think its bad for them at all...Its really good!!
PS- Also, on the Purell commecials, they show kids in daycare using it
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: As a general rule it isn't bad. I use it multiple times a day at work, but I try to avoid using too many antimicrobial things at home. It can lead to drug resistant bacteria. And those are NASTY!!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: There was just a story about anti-bacterial soaps on the news leading to drug resistant bateria! *BLAH* You are darned if you do...Darned if you don't I suppose! I am a germaphobe!!! We use alot of public restrooms when we travel and it freaks me out! I HATE the thought of the germs crawling around in there! I use bath and body works hand sanitizer and carry toliet seat covers with me for her... Yep I am a
TANNER'S MOM replied: I use it... especially at work. I handle alot of paper work that comes from around the world.. and it grosses me out.. so I use it alot.
I have trained my kids to be very bathroom savvy.. The girls to hoover and flush one or two ways.. You can use your foot to flush.. or you can take a bunch of toilet paper and use it on the handle..
Tanner is mad b/c his legs aren't long enuff to flush using his feet...lol
He came into my work the other day and had to go.. he said Mom Is it clean? Infront of the whole office.. b/c I go home and crap about the bathroom..
I said today it is safe!
Debra replied: We use it out in public but at home we don't.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I use it here at out home, but I do not carry a purse/bag with me when we are in public. So I would have no where to put a bottle. But I too have been teaching our girls not to "touch" anything, and ways to make it out of the bathroom without contracting more germs. However, now that I read this, I will rethink and use something to take sanitizer with me in public.
JAYMESMOM replied: We don't use it when we are out or even in our home as I am allergic to something in it. We just wash, wash, wash - I open all doors and hold Jayme over toliets when we are out. We are teaching Nick how to open doors with papertowel and how not to make direct contact with most surfaces.
BTW-the dirtest place in a women's bathroom is the floor. --- This was on dateline or 20/20
also a Man's computer keyboard ha more germs than the bathroom.
ediep replied: I use it on Jason pretty often...mostly when we are out, not at home.
six_kids_at_28 replied: I saw that too. It was on 20/20...and didn't it say that the toilet seat was the cleanest?
JAYMESMOM replied: I think so
MM'sMama replied: UH OH!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to cut back then myself I think ! I am a total germ-a-fobic and I use them MANY times a day if I'm out. EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK ok Karah step away from the hand sanatizers!!!!!
A&A'smommy replied: I use it at work and I use it on my kids at dance we have LOTS of bathroom breaks with the 3 year olds I have only used it on Alyssa a few desperate times
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I use them on both myself and Wil. Or I just wipe his hands with a baby wipe.
coasterqueen replied: No hand sanitizer, antibacterial soaps here. They kill the good yeast your body needs to fight off the bad . We will use baby wipes or regular warm water and soap.
mckayleesmom replied: soap and water here also....sometimes the antibacterial stuff....but rarely.
PrairieMom replied: We usually do the soap and water thing, but I carry sanitizer in my purse and use it in really ickey situations like after the petting zoo and after public restrooms.
