Halloween candy

HuskerMom wrote: How early do you buy Halloween candy? I noticed people in walmart already buying it. Seems way early. If I bought it now it would get eaten in a couple days. I usually wait til a couple days before.

Calimama replied: Like October 20th.

Twelve Volt Man replied: I start in November. Then, on October 30th, when I find myself without enough, I buy more.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
Oh yes it is too early for me to buy it, dh and I would get into it and have it mostly gone before halloween!
I wait until a couple days before

I've never met a cop with such a quick wit and great sense of humor laugh.gif emlaugh.gif laugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: We don't give out candy. But if we did, I'd have to buy it at approximately 5pm on October 31st to keep DH out of it. emlaugh.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: We give out over 500 pieces of candy a year (and run out at least an hour before trick or treat is over) so we start buying now. It just seems so costly if we go out and buy it all at once!!!

Mommy2Isabella replied: We don't pass out candy, but we were just talking about this yesterday. We would have to wait until HALLOWEEN NIGHT to go get it!

JadensMama05 replied: I've already started buying Halloween candy... for myself. smile.gif I dunno if I'll be handing it out or not this year cuz I have no idea where I'll be at that point but if I'm to buy candy for the kids, it'll have to be whatever day trick-or-treak is around here otherwise, I'll eat it all. I'm a junk food junkie.

NaturalMom replied: i buy it atleast in october. THey come out with this stuff WAY too early. I will buy a bag for my purposes if i buy one now cuz its on sale. other than this time of year i dont buy bagged candy so we do it up right! lol Its really sad to hear a lot of people dont give out candy. Not to pass judgement but with people doing that more and more each year, it ruins halloween for the kids. When we lived in vegas everyone was did that. people in vegas are stingy and self absorbed so it made sense but it made for some pathetic halloweens. I felt so bad for my kids. Then we moved to this small town in NY where people still wanted to see and give to the kids in their own neighborhood. I mean shouldnt we be neighborly and friendly with the people that live around us? jmo ;-)

coasterqueen replied: I live in the country so we don't get kids coming to our door trick-or-treating so I buy some but more or less just to munch on. blush.gif blush.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I haven't bought ours yet... and tbh, I am one of the people shopping for candy the night before trick or treat. The good thing about that is that we don't have the opportunity to munch on it before Halloween and we usually get it on sale.

moped replied: I bought it last night

lovemy2 replied: If I buy it early I have to hide it - from DH mostly - not really me...

holley79 replied: I normally buy it a couple days before. If I bought it this early I, like you, would eat it all.

moped replied: I also like to get it early so it isn't all picked over- I pride myself on having the best candy on the street tongue.gif

Farelle replied: Uh....yeah, like the day before so I don't eat it ALL!!!!!! tongue.gif

hoosier momma replied:
You sound like my mom. She has to have the best candy in our town.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Usually the night of or maybe the day before. But if I buy it any earlier, it's gone in like two days! tongue.gif I noticed Sam's Club had a big box of Halloween pencils instead of candy....I really like the idea and may buy that instead. Or maybe those fruit leathers. Sorry, no offense to anyone, I love candy too, but I can't stand seeing all the junk that kids load up on.

gr33n3y3z replied:
OMG that many????????????
Geeze where do you live LOL

My2Beauties replied: Usually the night before or the day of Halloween..I'm such a procrastinator! rolleyes.gif If I bought Halloween candy really early it'd be gone in a few days, because I only buy stuff that I like to eat myself laugh.gif In our new neighborhood we have a lot of trick or treaters and Hanna loaded up on candy last year so it was nice. In our old neighborhood Halloween sucked, we never got any kids to come to our door. So we always went to our IL's neighborhood or with Desiree and her mom in their neighborhood.

A&A'smommy replied: Well where I live at we wont get any trick or treaters but last year I didn't buy it until the day of which of course they didn't really have any good candy wink.gif but I'm looking forward to trick or treating this year alyssa is old enough to really enjoy it!!

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: I don't buy Halloween candy, because I always take the girls out. Plus with DH having 3 states in his service territory he may not be home to pass it out. But, my FIL LOVES halloween. I am not kidding when I say he easily spends $200.00 in candy. He doesn't just give out 1-3 pieces. No...he hands out fists fulls of candy to every kid. Plus there are usually 2-3 of his kids there to help pass out and help eat it while they pass it out. One year it was rather cold and he didn't have a lot of trick or treaters and he sent 2 full bags home with Megan. He doesn't buy the cheap stuff either. It is bubble gum, snickers, butterfingers, milky ways, and on and on. And it isn't the itty bitty little ones either. They are the fun size (or whatever they are called just under the regular size bars). It is always fun at Grandpa's on trick or treat night.
