HELP - sick baby

moped wrote: What can I feed him - he is puking and diahrea big time - any ideas???????? He is so sad, but no fever

A&A'smommy replied: don't worry about getting him to eat just make sure he drinks a LOT if it is really bad try pedialyte and hopefully he will be able to keep that down!!! hug.gif hug.gif

aspenblue1 replied: I know when Isabella was puking they said wait 1 hour they give her a tablespoon of water to see if she can keep it down. Don't worry about food until he is keeping liquids down. hug.gif hug.gif I hope he feels better soon and watch for dehydration.

gr33n3y3z replied: Aww I hope he feels better

pedialyte

MommyToAshley replied: I agree... wait on the solids. Try to get him to drink pedialyte or take the pedialyte popcycles. If he starts to feel better, I would start with some chicken broth or something like that.

Poor guy, hope he feels better soon. hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee got really sick last year with dehydration and the flu...Skip his milk...and push the pedialite....Also..before you give him the pedialite....give him a saltine cracker...this helps absorb the fluid and helps keep him from throwing up.....Feel better Jack.....and eat that cracker Mr. Picky.

mom2tripp replied: awe poor little thing Jen! ITA with everyone else on the pedialyte--no solids that will only make it worst. I hope he gets better super quick. Give him a kiss hug.gif

holley79 replied: Poor Jack. I have no clue Jen just wanted to send some hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif your and jack's way.

I agree with everyone else. Skip the solids and give pedialyte IN SMALL DOSES. The popcicles work here.

moped replied: Thanks guys - he has been sleeping for 2.5 hours - tha tis unheard of, so I know he is not feeling well at all - I made some jello hoping when he wakes up he will eat some of that or a popscicle maybe!!!!!!!!

I feel so helpless

mummy2girls replied: defenitley skip dairy products until the vomitting has susbsided. When jenna had the flu i was told to give her a couple tbsp of pedilayte every couple hours and once he can hold that much down to up the dose and keep upping until he is able to handle it. Then you can try a tiny bit of milk if he is really wanting..like 2 oz....

once the vomitting has disappeared and he is taking solids fine give him some yogurt...the active ingredient in yogurt helps diarreah go away. i did it with jenna and it worked.

ediep replied: awww, poor little man!!!

Everyone already gave you good advice....pedialyte and other liquids are best. When he starts to feel hungry stick with the BRAT diet....bannanas, rice, applesauce, toast. Actually, my ped said saltine crackers are best

Good luck!

KingMom replied: Poor Jack, I agree with everyone else. Let us know when he's feeling better.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Oh Jen.. I am so sorry. I hate when the little ones are sick. I hope his big blue eyes..are feeling all better.

It sounds like you are on the right track. Clear liquids..until no more vomit then go to the BRAT diet..

Give him hugs for me~ wub.gif hug.gif
