kimberley wrote: k spilled an entire glass of pepsi on dh's laptop unsure.gif what do i do??

tried to get it apart but couldn't. any help is greatly appreciated.

Twelve Volt Man replied:
Beg for mercy?

msoulz replied:
OH, I'd start praying while begging for mercy. sad.gif

MoonMama replied: dito.gif sad.gif Sorry hun.

Cece00 replied: Tell your DH this is why he shouldnt leave his electronics where the kids might spill stuff on them?

Crystalina replied:
Yep, blame it on the kids. The youngest on is your best bet. wink.gif

Or you can wait until he is holding a pepsi then pick up the laptop and "bump" into him. Then say, "Great! You just spilled Pepsi all over your laptop!!". smile.gif

kimberley replied: LOL you all are bad! he was right here when it happened, so he knows.. and Kaleigh did actually do it. just hoping there is some miraculous way that it is fixable.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Sorry hun. sad.gif

I hope you can get it fixed. Can you send it in to the manufacturer or is it out of warranty? hug.gif

lovemy2 replied: Take the kids and get out fast and when you are gone start praying and begging for mercy? dunno.gif

redchief replied: In my experience, sugar, carbonated water, caramel color and natural and artificial flavors are terminal when force fed to a laptop computer regardless of the route of entry. I'm sorry, Kimberley. sad.gif

I found this, but it didn't look too promising.

Calimama replied:
rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif You're killing me.

I'm sorry, I've done that twice if it makes you feel better. hug.gif

Crystalina replied:
Oh. Well, just don't let him know we were trying to make you lie. He will never trust us. huh.gif

kimberley replied: too late lol. he was a member here before i was.. but just lurks. happy.gif

we have dried it out best we could and will take it to the dealer monday to see if they can clean it and make it work again. we're not going to try to power up til they clean it cuz there is likely residue everywhere. wish us luck. wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Yikes!

I was going to suggest the same thing... unplug or turn off. Wipe it the best you can with a cloth and water (q-tip for the small areas). Let it dry and then power it up and pray for the best.

I've spilled stuff on a keyboard and it survived, but not an entire laptop. I hope the dealer can save it for you. hug.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Good luck Monday, Kimberley. That's such a pain. Kids are into everything, aren't they. On the subject, it's been a while since I've seen new pics of your 4. Got any good ones to share?

luvmykids replied: I was going to suggest rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, I had a minor spill once and thats what my computer guy said to do. I hope they're able to get it working for you! hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
That is exactly what you should do... dh does it and he is a computer nerd.. but anyway it works really well!!! I hope its okay!!

kimberley replied: redbounce.gif banana.gif horray.gif groupwave.gif partydance.gif woohoo.gif

i LOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE Asus! dh took it in today. they tried to power it up and nothing came on. told him they'd have the techs look at it and will call. we expected bad news. they just called half hour ago and said it is working perfectly after they cleaned it and there is no charge!! ohmy.gif thumb.gif thumb.gif

this after buying it used with no cpu fan and they replaced that free, now this. i have no clue how they stay in business but i'll by 100 more Asus computers if this is how they treat their customers!! biggrin.gif

redchief replied: Amazing. I would have bet a week's pay you lost the machine. That's awesome!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW! That's awesome!!! thumb.gif

msoulz replied:
Me too - that is fantastic! I wonder if it had been Coke would it still work?? tongue.gif

MommyToAshley replied: clapsmiley.gif clapsmiley.gif clapsmiley.gif
YEAH! I am so glad that it is working fine... phew, what a relief!

thumb.gif WOW, that is great customer service! thumb.gif

MoonMama replied: groupwave.gif groupwave.gif groupwave.gif

That is awesome, and what a wonderful company to deal with. thumb.gif

kimberley replied:
rolling_smile.gif too funny!

i was sure it was cooked too but the positives were that it was closed and off when it happened, and that we loosened the screws (couldn't actually get it open blush.gif) and drained out as much as we could and disconnected the battery immediately. these people at asus are miracle workers imho lol.
