my2monkeyboys replied: will Motrin work? that's all I have.
Thanks!

mckayleesmom replied: maybe some oatmeal on it.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: a paste of baking soda and water will draw out the stinger if it is still there as well as the poison. It will also help the swelling! Also liquid Benadryll give him a dose and rub it on the sting! hug.gif I am so sorry for the poor sweetie!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Motrin will reduce swelling it is an anti-inflamitory!

kimberley replied: why do i remember something about butter? blink.gif motrin should work fine. poor little guy. hug.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: I'm doing the ice thing, and I've put some Bactine on it to help disinfect it and it has a numbing agent in it. I'll do the paste and give a dose of Motrin as well. Hopefully that will fix him right up.
This is the first time he's ever been stung... poor baby! (Or maybe poor mama.. I think I feel worse than he does!)
Thank you all so much for your help!!!

How did he get stung?

my2monkeyboys replied: We were just outside in the front yard walking around looking at leaves. The next thing I knew he was screaming holding his hand. We just had to put a trap at the end of yard last Saturday (they always come out this time of year here), because another little boy got stung on the arm at Will's b-day party. sad.gif I felt so bad for him! We should have put the trap out a week or so before that, but there weren't any out until we started bringing out the food... that lured them out of their little holes I guess.
Those traps are great though... when my son got stung DH went over to it to make sure it was working right, and it had close to 3 dozen dead ones in it. Too bad the one that stung Will wasn't in there! mad.gif
Yesterday morning DH asked Will, "Do you want to go kill some yellow jackets?" (Just to see what he'd say, not that they actually would try.) My son said, "no! Yellow jackets make me nervous!" I just thought that was so funny! Not that I blame him!

BTW, after doing all of the suggested things, he was feeling better in no time! Esp. after I rubbed benadryl on it and gave him a dose. Thanks again!!! Oh, and my DH thinks I'm a dork for getting on here and talking to people I don't know (although he gets on X-Box with strangers!), but after he was where you all offered help so quick he was like, "well, I can see why you like to talk to them, I guess." Lol!

blahblah.gif Sorry for the long post! hug.gif

six_kids_at_28 replied: wavey.gif Hey DH

LOL...I don't know why I did that rolling_smile.gif

Awww...I didn't relize you had so many yellow jackets!! Where are you? We never have them ohmy.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: we live in SC. We usually have them around Oct. through Nov. While the trap gets a lot of them in it, you never actually see more than 2-3 in the yard at one time. I guess the trap lures them out of the holes. Thank God... I'd hate to see how many there would eventually be if we didn't use traps!

MM'sMama replied:
Just what I was gonna say. hug.gif to both you and Will I hope hes feeling better sad.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Poor kid (and mommy) I'm glad he is better not though!! hug.gif
