HELP ME WITH THIS PLEASE
mom2tripp wrote: Tripp had a right ear infection last week and was on antibiotics, it caused diarreah and minor diaper rash which quickly disappeared. OK, he's done with the meds, and today ALLLLL day long he had diarreah, I'm talking 10 diapers. He screams, his skin is raw, I couldn't even give him a bath tonight because he couldn't sit in the water.
I've quick using baby wipes and I've tried, Desitin, Gold Bond Powder, and Constarch (found that tip on the internet) I'm staying home with him tomorrow bc he's so bad.
HELP ME PLEASE WITH ANY TIPS!!!!
Jamison'smama replied: A paste of Aquafor and Mylanta--works wonders. The Mylanta cools the burn---I have been known to just pour it on Jamison's bottom when it was raw. The Aquafor is also very healing.
Poor baby---It will heal very quickly.

kayla's mama replied: Actually I don't have any suggestions, I'm having the same problem with the rash!!!
I've never heard of that. I might give it a try.
Hope Tripp gets feeling better
A&A'smommy replied: awwww goodness btdt I hope he feels better soon!!!
CAMSMOM1 replied: Cameron has diaper rashes all the time, regardless of his BM...of course when he has diarhea it's worse. I know that applejuice if it's not deluted a lot, can cause it. And red sauce, like speghetti. And of course, when he is sick.
Yogurt can help diarreah. A tip I got from our Ped. doctor. And bananas also are good for diareah.
And we have used every ointment out there, and "Butt Paste" works best. Funny name, but all my friends recommened it to me. We buy it at Walmart. And Desitin Creamy works pretty good.
For baths, use warm water and Aveeno bath. It is for diaper rashes, chicken pox, hives, ect. Let him soak in it for at least 20 min, keep the bath water warm. It really works well.
Try to let his bottom breath. After he has gone to the bathroom, let him air dry. A diaper rash doesn't clear up as fast if it stays moist. Even if it's for 10 min, it will help.
It's good you aren't using the baby wipes, the alcohol stings. Cameron would scream if I touched his bottom with a wipe. Use moist paper towels. And make sure you dry off the area well, before putting an ointment on.
Once his diaper rash got so bad, I had to get a special ointment called in from his doctor. If it continues, after doing the things I listed, then I would take him in.
I hope he feels better soon!

Freckled Momma replied: I also used Boudreaux's Butt Paste. It works really fast and does a good job.
Hope he feels better soon
coasterqueen replied: Does it look like a regular diaper rash or more bumpy, like a yeast diaper rash? If it's a yeast diaper rash you can try something like clotrimizole (OTC) and that should help in a day or two.
I think I'd try Brenda's treatment first though.
Hope he gets better soon.
moped replied: When Jack had 10 days of it I mixed vaseline and cornstarch and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Tripp - give him a big hug
amymom replied: All good suggestions. Especially air drying. That always helped.
luvmykids replied: Our pharmacist had a homemade concoction he also called "butt paste" and it was miraculous stuff! You might try calling your pharmacist and asking too.
~~*Missi*~~ replied: This sounds wierd but it really works. Sabrina always gets a rash with new teeth. So i take destin (any white baby cream) mix it with neosporin and put a nice coat of that one. I then put powder (cornstarch) over that. Every diaper change i do this. As it starts to heals I start rotating just A&D with powder and the destin/neo mix.
Nice warm baths help, it could be a yeast infection since you said he just finished meds. So PLAIN yogurt is a at home remedy jsut lather that on the bummy or fill the tubby and sit in it ( it really really works) Also any anti fungal will help.
I always let sabrina run bear but for awhile after a diaper change so that it will get air.
Good luck
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Poor little guy! I hope he's feeling better today.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Just be careful and test if Tripp is allergic to neosporin first. Put some on his arm and put a bandaid on it. If it flares up in a rash, don't use it. About 20% of the population has some form of allergy to neosporin. I have a bad one.
CosmetologyMommy replied: I heard aphafor(sp?) is good. Also, maybe aveeno baby makes some soothing lotion.
MyLuvBugs replied: He needs to sit in a bath. I know that he probably doesn't want to, but it will help his little butt so much. Also, give him pedialyte like crazy to get the diarreah to stop. Then just start coating his tushy with desitin or butt butter. I will get better, but not overnight. Good luck.
moped replied: I agree with amomsjob too - when Jack was going thru it he bathed about 3 times a day for a long time each
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I don't have any advice...but here's hoping Tripp gets better soon!
C&K*s Mommie replied: NO advice either.... .hope he is better by now. (2 day later)
ilovemybaby replied: I would use pure cornstarch and keep him as dry as possible. Change him more often and let him just lie on a towel on top of the changing mat/on top of something plastic for 15-30 minutes when you take each diaper off. Then put the clean one on. The poo and wee combined gives the rash. IMO Especially when baby is teething or when they have diarrhea. Just use a cold/warm washcloth instead of wipes and plenty of vaseline and cornstarch.
Maddy'sMom replied: PINXAV (pronounced Pink Salve) found at drugstores, Walmart, Target....behind the pharmacy counter, you have to ask for it.
MAGIC. Simply magic. The nurses at the hospital recommended it to my SIL, who's preemie was in the NICU for over two months...she suggested it to me, and it is a miracle cream.
Good Luck
Cece00 replied: Ok he is probably better by now, BUT
First wash him off really well, then put Mylanta
Pat dry after a couple of min & apply a mix of Boudreaux's Butt Paste (its made here where I live, we had it for awhile before it was across the country...it works WONDERS) and some type of antibiotic ointment...put a LOT..
then diaper him up
my younger son had a REALLY bad rash one time- blisters & all (but not yeast) b/c of a medication & this helped it get 75% better in ONE DAY. He was FREAKING & screaming before b/c the blisters had popped....he hated to be wiped & I couldnt even put him in the water to "wash" him instead of wiping him, poor guy.
