HELP ME - I need help with a gift
moped wrote: Ok, so one of the guys I work for - his wife is having a baby this week. They are all giving me money to get them a gift. It is their second child and this is a girl. Thoughts please?
I need to get this gift this week.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: How much do you have to spend? Is there something on their registry that you could buy?
cameragirl21 replied: how much money have you collected? what i usually give people is a silver picture frame that is baby related, like it has a rocking horse etched into the silver or whatever. you can also get a pink and silver, hand crafted "it's a girl" ring...i can post a link to the jewelry designer that makes them. i usually prefer to buy stuff like that over stuff for the baby because i've come fo find that everyone has very different tastes for what they want for the baby and unless you know or they are registered somewhere, you really don't know what they'll want but mothers usually love baby jewelry and silver frames in my experience.
moped replied: I will get about 300-400.......
When I left my last job to have Jack they gave me a gift certificate to a professional photographer, because everyone knew we loved photos, and we got some great pics............that cost a small fortune...........would that be silly?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Ha! That's funny...I was just thinking that same thing, Jen!
I think that's what you should get! That's what I would want.
cameragirl21 replied: ha! it's never silly to get a gift certificate to a professional photographer, that's actually what i was going to suggest. here is the jewelry i spoke of, it's way below your budget though.... http://www.rockstobuybaby.com/view_prod_detail.php?prodid=68
Old Mom Hubbard replied: I have not bought any baby gifts in a long time, but Ornaments that you can place a picture in, (even though maybe for Christmas, Hanukkah or any holiday) they are lovely to have out year round, this as a little add-on to something a little bigger...Here are some sites you may be able to have fun and luck getting the perfect ideas. Sure hope so!
My sister got some very cute Anne Geddes Baby Clothing for a friend of hers..may check out this site- http://www.annegeddesbaby.com/home.asp

JC Penny- http://www.jcpenney.com/products/Cg11467.jsp
USA Baby-they have a Store Locator on the site and looks like some good ideas- http://www.usababy.com/
BOOTIES! LOTS OF BOOTIES and little caps. The booties are ALWAYS it seemed to me with mine and I recall this even though over 17 years ago with mine, they were ALWAYS somehow getting eaten up in the washer and I could only find ONE of the pair. Maybe getting a sock bag that you put in the washer so they do not go missing into the "Lost World" of the washer or dryer? What are the parents into, their hobbies? Maybe a cute slogan on a jumper that says, Future (company Name) owner? Well, without knowing budget you have or anything, hope the links help with answers.
Another site I think important to share, is this one- http://www.babybusiness.com/ It is a directory to help consumers find information on baby products, baby stores, and recalls in the Baby Business.
Or yes, a photography certificate, as for photos-they are priceless!
Well, hope that helps I have to get myself ready for work, so best of luck there!
moped replied: I don't know them well enough to give jewellery....but I loved the place that my company gave me the money to - so I was thinking that and a small something for the big sister.
Old Mom Hubbard replied: A Shirt for big sister that says, "I am a Proud Big Sister to" and the baby's first name?
Calimama replied: I think that's a great idea!
hoosier momma replied: I think the gift card for photos would be an excellent idea and a unique gift.
my2girls replied: A collection of children's book. I always give that and several boxes of diapers (in different sizes) and wipes.
mummy2girls replied: I would make a basket of goodies,, like diapers, wipes, cream, bath stuff, an outfit, sleeper, undershirts, booties, soother, bottles, books...
Boys r us replied: With that dollar amount, I would either do the gift for the photos or a gift card where they are registered + a SMALL basket of goodies.
michmom replied: Oh that sounds like a fantastic idea.
