HELP! ACK!

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I'm making flip flops for party favors at Maddie's party. (Yes, I decided to do it and yes, I'm crazy)

N-E-WAY... I am hot gluing the stuff on the straps. The problem? The hot glue won't STICK to the plastic straps. dry.gif Does anyone know of anything else I can use that will stick, but dry super fast?

holley79 replied: Super glue, maybe...

mammag replied: Sorry I never did figure out that hot glue stuff. Nothing I ever tried it on worked. Hope you get it figured out though....sounds like a really cute favor.

b&bsmom replied: Not sure what to tell you. I don't know if the glue dots would work? I am not sure they would be strong enough. Is your glue hot enough could that be why it is not sticking. sorry to ask just trying to get some ideas of why they won't stick. Good luck let us know what you use.

Mommy_Michele replied: I have no suggestions, but post a pic when you're done!

MommyToAshley replied: Sorry I am no help, but wasn't there someone here that made some sort of ribbon flip-flops? I can't remember who, but they were cute.

C&K*s Mommie replied: You could try superglue, but hot glue would definately be out on plastic. Is it too late to try to make the ribbon flip-flops?

Wish I could be of more help.

C&K*s Mommie replied: It was AlexPajamaMama (Michelle) that made those cute shoes. happy.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
I didnt glue the ribbon on...I just tied it. HTH

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'd try super glue or krazy glue maybe - just go to the glue aisle and find something that works on plastic. tongue.gif I hope you can get it to work - they sound cute! happy.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Cannot wait to see pics of your finished project. happy.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Well, I think the hot glue is going to work. I have a professional hot glue gun...VERY high heat and high heat glue sticks. It SHOULD work. dry.gif Anyway, I read where you have to clean the straps with vinegar before trying to glue it. I just worry about the decorations coming off later if the flip flops get hot. I think I will put a little note in there about "Caring for the handmade flip flops" emlaugh.gif They are coming out really cute. I'll take a pic when I'm done. wink.gif

Thanks for your help! thumb.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: It should work with the high heat gun Aimee smile.gif I bet they will be ADORABLE! I am still jealous laugh.gif I can't find anything to go with these stinkin ponies and she keeps changing her mind anyway! rolleyes.gif

PrairieMom replied: I ue E6000 on a lot of my crafting stuff, its stinkey, but I THINK it will glue on plastic.

CantWait replied: They sound like a lot of fun, can't wait to see pics of them.
