HCG Level - Any Advice PLEASE...

I should be getting my period today or tomorrow which makes me a little less than 4 weeks since my last menstrual period (I usually have a between 26-28 day cycle) and not quite two weeks since I ovulated - according to fertilityfriend (charting) I ovulated on April 6th....
MD thought the number was a bit iffy so wants me to retest next Monday....
I fear a here we go again situation like what happened in late February with a 5 week m/c......
Who knows what about this?????
Mommy2Isabella replied: Humm ... I know that my HCG level at approx. 4 weeks preg was like 400 ... but I am a different situation, I had twins in the very beginning ...
mummy2girls replied: Dont panic quite yet until you get retested( easier said than done) .. my friend found out she wa spregnant and because of previous m/c they did HCG level testing. instead of the levels going up as it should it was going up and down and just going nuts. 9 months later she had a healthy baby boy:)
PrairieMom replied: I'm sorry, i never had levels drawn, so I have no clue abou this, but I'm sending you well wishes!
kimberley replied: here is an hcg calculator and chart. i wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet. wait til monday and see what doc says. i tested around 4-5wks with my last child and got 2 negatives in 2 days. doc said some women just don't produce a lot of the hormone but as long as it was doubling, i was fine. hang in there and stay positive!
siblingtoolivia replied: Thanks girls, I am just going to sit tight and hope all is well....this waiting will be worse than the waiting for af to show up that is for sure....
pinniy replied: With BOTH my pregnancies, they did blood tests. They did the qualitive (pos/neg) and quantitive (HCG level). With the qualitive, they check the results twice, once after about 4 minutes (I'm not sure of the exact minute) and then they check it again at, I think 11 minutes (again, I'm not sure of the exact minute). Both times they came back negetive on the first check, but then positive with the second check. Then, when they did the quantitive test, my levels were in the "inconclusive" range. So, I had to retest after 72 hours. "Statistically," the HCG levels are supposed to double every 48-72 hours in the beginning of the pregnancy.
I hope that helps. I wish you the best...

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I work in a lab and I can tell you that we consider anything over 5 to be pregnant. Normally levels would be higher by 4 weeks, but you are really only 2 weeks pregnant if I read your post right. So, have faith, and try not to worry. Also, have faith in the lab. We love positive tests (as long as they are not on 13 year olds) so we do our best to make sure the results are as accurate as possible.
siblingtoolivia replied: Thank you soooooo much Kelly, you actually just gave me tons of faith, cause yes, I would only really be two weeks "pregnant"....or I guess the lingo would be 12 days past ovulation (the day they took the test) so....thank you, you may have just given me the strength to get to the next test!!!! If that one is bad, then I will face the music but from what I have read, etc. the first means nothing, its the second and the change (if any) that mean more!!!
