Guys I'm being a big baby
MyBabeMaddie wrote: There's this girl I went to school with who's my age (22) and she's due to have her baby girl in May. I don't know much about the boyfriend but neither one of them are done with school and aren't in a good financial situation right now.
She's coming over tomorrow to take Madison's crib, pack-n-play, infant carseat/stroller set, baby swing, changing table, diaper genie, bouncy seat - EVERYTHING! I offered it to her because I know she needs it and I have no use for any of it anymore but it is SOO SAD to see all of Maddie's baby stuff and to think that just 2 years ago I was pregnant. Time flies by.
I guess the hardest stuff to say Bye to is the tiny baby clothes cause I have a memory with each outfit. Oh well, that's what pictures are for.
bawoodsmall replied: I am the same way even though Aiden was and still isnt an easy child. You still miss it. There will be more babies some day...wont there?????
stella6979 replied: Awww...I know how you feel. I was going through all of Avery's old clothes to sell at our garage sale and it was so hard deciding what to get rid of. It was like every little outfit had some significance.
A&A'smommy replied: What a sweet thing you are doing for them!!!
MyBabeMaddie replied: I hope to have more kids some day, but not for a LONNGG time.... Plus at the rate I'm going I'm never going to have any interest in finding a guy.
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee is 5 and Russell is 3 and I still have a tough time getting rid of stuff.
sparkys2boys replied: That's rough, but what a wonderful thing you are doing.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I can totally relate. I have a really hard time giving way certain items of clothing for the exact reason you named -- they each remind me of certain moments/times with the kids. I have allowed myself to keep any of their special clothes from the first year of their life. After that,,,,,,,,,, I really try to pass the clothes along to someone that can use them.
What an awesome gift you are giving, though! That must make you feel good, huh? And,, you have a point about 'that's what pictures are for'. LOL
I will say, though -- I was sad to get rid of the high chair,,,,,,,until I packed it away and then I swore I'd never use one again if I'm blessed with another baby. I'm going to use a booster seat that comes with a tray. I'm so happy to have my kitchen back. LOL
Boo&BugsMom replied: Move to WI, I have a brother your age! ETA: a good looking brother with a good job.
I know it's sad, but I applaud you for being such a generous person, especially when you are not all that well off yourself. Your kindness will be rewarded. You have a huge heart.
luvbug00 replied: i did this for a friend too. (although now i wish i had just lent her the crib) anyhoo very sweet.
Mommy2BAK replied: aww thats really sweet of you to let them have all that stuff, I don't think I could do it. I gave away most of Blakely's stuff and boy am I regretting that now.
TrulyBlessed replied: That is awesome what you are doing, but I would be kind of nervous getting rid of all of it. I did that because I thought we were done and here I am having another one and scrapping to buy use baby stuff, wishing I would've kept mine.
HuskerMom replied: That's a really nice thing for you to do.
We're not sure if we're going to have another child or not so we're not getting rid of anything yet, but I'm dreading it when we do get rid of baby clothes and everything. I'll have to keep a couple of their outfits that are my favorites.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Good for you! I did that - and still do with the clothes Madison outgrows. Even though I'm a bit sad to let the stuff go I know it's going to help someone else and it will come back to you in a way - we have been given more stuff for this baby than I can count!
MyBabeMaddie replied: She sent me a cell phone pic of the nursery she put together yesterday, it looks really sweet and I know she was genuinely grateful for everything.
Not to sound like a snob, but if/when I have another kid I hope that I can get all new stuff anyways, even though it was Madison's baby stuff, it was bought with and by HIM and I would feel weird having all that stuff around a new family.
Celestrina replied: I remember the first time DH and I had to put away Ben's clothes that didn't fit anymore. DH actually started to cry!
Jackie012007 replied: awww I know, I have everything of Carly's in our attic - I miss seeing it around the house!
you are not being a snob at all - I would TOTALLY feel the same way!
MyBabeMaddie replied: LoL I must have missed this post earlier.. Where in WI? My cousins live in northern ILL and we used to go up to Great America in WI every summer.
