Guy at my work - him and his wife need prayers

My2Beauties wrote: This guy I work with, actually sit right across from needs everyone's thoughts and prayers right now. Him and his wife have a 7 month old and she has a 6 year old from a previous marriage and she was currently about 4-5 months pregnant. They had been TTC for a few months and this was to be their last baby. Well on Monday she had her ultrasound and was going to find out the sex of the baby. DUring my lunch I came back and noticed that he was gone. I figured he took an early lunch! We only get 30 minutes so about an hour later I asked our team lead where he was and she said he went home, something about a family emergency! Well he called later that day, his wife went for her ultrasound and the baby has passed! It is still born, just two weeks ago she went and they heard a strong heartbeat and everything!! He is really upset, he just got back to work today and he said his wife isn't taking it very well. What's even worse is she has to get induced to "give birth" to her dead child! They are re-checking her Monday and doing another ultrasound just to make sure I guess but he said that she is devestated! Please keep him and his wife in your thoughts and prayers. Part of me hopes that they go Monday and it was a huge mistake but in my heart I know that probably isn't going to happen!! Thanks guys!

favre4fan replied: Oh my what a horrible thing to have happen. Do they even know why it happened or is that something they have to figure out when they deliver? And they have to wait until Monday , what could be more heart renching then to be carrying a baby around that is dead. Horrible just horrible. I will definately keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

After that ER episode where that happened, it just keeps popping up in my head that it could happen and it ruins my day.

Baby Lauren hasn't been moving much for the last two days and I was getting really worried. She is still moving though and I have an appointment today.

I'll be thinking of your co-worker and his family. I honestly think I would totally crack if that happened to me. I would need serious drug therapy if nothing else.

This happened to my friend 2 years ago but she was 8 months pregnant. She has since had a beautiful healthy baby.

That is so good to know. Thank you!! I was worried that maybe there was an underlying problem on her end but I didnt' dare ask him that. I guess it's just a freak thing! Sometimes the lord works in mysterious ways and we must never question it. I seriously think when things like this happen it's honestly for a reason and probably because there was something wrong with the child, some sort of handicap that could cause them to suffer during life or that they would have gotten really sick or something. I know you wonder why some ARE born this way and don't just die beforehand but like I said I believe it's all for a reason. I better stop he is sitting right across from me and I am getting teary-eyed!

paradisemommy replied: how completely devastating! keeping them in my thoughts and prayers. i agree with your thinking though. everything happens for a reason. i think this baby was just extra special and God needed him/her to be with him!

TLCDad replied: Since we went through a similar experience, I know how they must be feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their family.

As is our son with Dee Dee and I, they have their little Angel watching over them.

with my friend she ended up having a defect in the umbilical cord that made it very weak, so when the baby got bigger it compressed the cord. It turns out that there were also some other defects with the baby. Needless to say, she was an absolute wreck and never really got over this.
When she got preg this time, she was high risk the entire time and she was induced a little early since it was the last few weeks of her pregnancy that was when her first died

This post really touched me in a way that hopefully you will never know. As DH told you, we went through something very similar. I don't think there could be anything more devastating or painful than going through labor and giving birth, all the while knowing that your child will not be here with you. It's the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with and I have never gotten over it. I just learned to live with it. Obviously, we had another baby. We had Ashley a few years later, but I was scared and paranoid the entire time I was PG.

Your friend and his wife will need lots of support. I am so sorry for their loss, and they are in my thoughts and prayers. If your friend wants to talk, please feel free to give her my email.

I know this has to be a terrible devestating thing to endure and we are all being extra nice to him at work and hopefully they are able to conceive again quickly and bring life into the world once again. It's just so sad because he was so happy when he found out she was pregnant!!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, especially you Dee Dee and TLCDad, since you have had a similar thing happen, I can see how you guys have coped and hopefully help him through this hard time.

I cant imagine the pain!!!!

I worked with a woman that carried a baby fullterm and the baby was still born!
HEARTbreaking!!!!!!
