Got One of Those Dreaded Phone Calls - From Olivia's School

lovemy2 wrote: She fell on the playground and cut open the back of her head - you know the call that puts you instantly in freak out mode - yep - DH threw Dylan in the car and went to get her - I met them at the Ped's office - which I have to say thank goodness I went with my gut at the time I chose a Ped and picked the one that does sutures in the office - anyway -

She had to get THREE staples in the back of her head - poor little thing - this is the child that FREAKS out with shots but she was such a trooper thumb.gif thumb.gif she was more scared that she was being held down and couldn't see what was coming, etc. than anything - it was all over very quickly and my Ped as usual was absolutely wonderful thumb.gif

So we are off to Disney with three staples in our head and not able to wash her hair until after we get there - she will be good and greasy by then laugh.gif

Thank goodness she isn't an underwater swimmer thumb.gif

Ahhhh the drama tongue.gif

moped replied: Oh the poor dear - I hope she is on the mend!!!!!

SOrry that happened!

mom21kid2dogs replied: hug.gif Awww . . . sounds like she was quite a trooper! hug.gif
And she'll have a great story to tell Mickey! thumb.gif Have a great trip!!!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh no! ohmy.gif I'm so sorry that happened, but I suppose it's part of being a kid. Hope she heals quickly and you guys have a great trip! hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: Aw man! Poor baby. At least it was in the back of her head and won't leave a scar that you can see wink.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

Calimama replied: Poor thing!! I hope she heals quickly and is no pain. Give her lots of hugs for me!! hug.gif hug.gif

luvmykids replied: OMGoodness, poor you and Olivia! hug.gif I'm so glad it wasn't worse but I can't imagine the thoughts on the way to the dr! hug.gif

Insanemomof3 replied: Ouch! Glad she is ok though. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: ohmy.gif Oh my, how scary! I would have definitely freaked out, I am not good in those type of situations.

I'm glad she is ok. hug.gif Hope she heals quickly, and have a fun time at Disney!!!!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh HOLY Moses! I would have FREAKED! I am glad she is OK and I hope she heals up fast! I think you should share the story at your hotel and maybe she can get a visit or a call from Mickey! wink.gif

redchief replied: Aww, poor Olivia! I hope she's feeling better soon!

DansMom replied: So scary! hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: hopefully the trip will help her forget all about her poor head!

Kaitlin'smom replied: ohmy.gif awww poor thing and mom also. I think I would have deffinatly been freeking. I hope she heals fast.

Will she have to have the staples removed or do they desolve?

lisar replied: Oh I hope she feels okay. Disney not feeling good isnt fun.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Aww! Poor thing. Tanner had that happen to his forehead last year. He had to get the wound glued shut. sad.gif Hope she's feeling better!

A&A'smommy replied: awwww poor girl!!!! I hope you are able to enjoy disney anyway hug.gif

jcc64 replied: Head injuries are pretty terrifying, no doubt about it. It's probably best that it's in a spot where she can't see it.
I'm sure Disney will get her mind on other things. Have a great time! Take a ride on Space Mtn for me.

Calimama replied: How is she doing? hug.gif

lovemy2 replied: Thank you all for the hugs - it was not fun but she is doing fine - it really doesn't hurt - but her hair from the blood (sorry TMI) and neosporin is gross and I am not supposed to wash it until Thursday - I may lay her over the kitchen sink and try to just rinse some of it out without soaking her head tonite - she says its itchy which is good cause its healing but - so all in all she is no worse for the wear although I officially aged at least 10 years..... sleep.gif I can only imagine how people deal with children with illnesses day in and day out - those parents must have some type of special strength and are truly my heros.....

holley79 replied: Poor thing. At least it wasn't something major that would make you have to cancel your vacation plans.
