GoogleEarth question.
Crystalina wrote: I'm addicted to this! My question is do the area pics ever change? I can see my SIL's house perfect! I'm suprised I can't see in their windows. However it's a little old because her fence she put up last summer is not in the shot. The thing is in my area it is so blurry you can't really see the town. It's terrible. New York is clear yet Cambridge Ohio isn't? I don't get it. When I say it's bad it really is. You can see the town but you can't really make anything out. Do they ever adjust the pics or renew them? Will I ever be able to see my town?
Kaitlin'smom replied: not sure I will have to go check mine out BRB
lisar replied: Well they have to update sometime. I know when I moved into my house it was an old pic but now the picture is one with my old car. I have had my new car for 3 years now though. But they do update just not very often.
jcc64 replied: I just saw this for the first time last night. So cool! Really helpful when deciding which hotel has the best location! I live in upstate NY in a fairly rural, unimportant area, and when you zoom in, there is no discernable detail. I'd like to know where they get these pics from. Who takes them?
amynicole21 replied: LOL! My DH and I used to think it was live... duh. I'm not sure how often they refresh the pics, but ours are crystal clear. You can even see what toys we left in the yard. So crazy.
cameragirl21 replied: omg, what's this all about..you guys are freaking me out!!!! i go out to garden in my bra and undies all the time and more often than not, in the morning, i step out to feed the cats completely naked...are you saying there may be pictures of this on the web?!
amynicole21 replied: LOL, Jennifer! I guess if they catch you at just the right moment, yes

redchief replied: For the satellite addicts, here's another with different views: http://maps.live.com/
Click on the Aerial link and go find yourself.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Ours are fuzzy, but some are amazingly clear....in NYC DH was able to zoom in far enough to read the label on someone's backpack!
redchief replied: Just moving a little bit one direction or another in close-up view may net you a different aerial photograph and clearer shot. This isn't always the case, but we found a lot of differences just running across our little island.
kit_kats_mom replied: Thanks guys. I just spent a good two hours looking for whales off the coasts. They've got to be there right?
redplaydoh replied: We used GoogleEarth to navigate areas in Switzerland before we moved and to peek at place around where we were looking to live.
Our old address in CT still shows cars in the drive and it's a rental car that DH's parents had when they were visiting us just after Lucas was born.
Our place here in Switzerland still shows the empty lot it used to be before they built on it.
Crystalina replied: Mt. Rushmore is a joke on GoogleEarth. Or maybe I'm just not seeing it? I don't know but I went there a few nights ago. Got the kids all hyped up and when we got there nada! I can see the mountains great. All the little dots saying what's what. The pics are really amazing but no matter how much I zoomed in or angled the camera I couldn't see the faces for anything. Bummer.
