I can't believe the average median income is $37,078...I wonder if that's per person or household?? ...Oh nevermind it says household...wow Louisville is a pretty poor city then. That's hard to live on here. We have a 4% unemployment rate which is higher than the national average but we're below average on the national poverty level...makes no sense. It's hard to believe only 7.8% of people have the same annual household income as us, I thought we'd be among the average, since even we have some hard times sometimes, wow I'm stunned.
luvbug00 replied: very interesting TFS!!!
moped replied: I googled a canadian version......
my city is 1 million
average household income is $160,000
My2Beauties replied: It must be a huge difference between cost of living in US and Canada, I always notice the price difference on things when they mention the prices for both US and Canada and the price difference is huge! I seriously do not know of many cities in the US that would have a median income of $160,000 except Beverly Hills or the Hamptons
My2Beauties replied: OK I just did it for the zip code 90210, the infamous Beveryly Hills (you guys know where I knew the zip code from, come on ) and the median household income is still only $112,572 I'm shocked! 5.7% of the pop. in 90210 make under $10,000 per year, double shock
moped replied: WOWZERS.........
Yeah it is terribly high cost of living here!
amymom replied: I had to answer this..... We have 1,360 people according to this website....
median income $36,500

Although I have to say that the statistic is for the major city and I live in a suburb of that city ... so it's really not accurate, especially the population. The meidan income sounds about right as we have a lower cost of living compared to a lot of other states.
Cece00 replied: the population number isnt accurate for the city or town you live in unless there is only ONE zip code where you live.
For example, it says there are about 30k ppl in my zip code. My city has at least 6 zip codes. Our parish (which is my city & a couple of small towns right next to it) actually has a couple hundred thousand ppl.
A&A'smommy replied: wow I guess I live in a big city compared to some

Holy Cow we are rolling in the dough and I didn't even realize it.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Our population is 119,000 and growing. Our population in 2000 (when we moved here) was 54,000!
Median income: $72,133
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I found this on Beverly Hills:
I'm guessing a lot of the people who live there don't have an income, kwim?
luvmykids replied: That is the case for me....population 10356. Median household income $48,284 which is easily done here. We're a small town just starting to really grow so you can still find affordable housing. The only real big expense is if you work in the city about 25 minutes away, the gas can hurt.
My3LilMonkeys replied: 16577 people here
Our median income is $49,000 which is a bit lower than I expected - but our poverty and unemployment are both below national average.
HuskerMom replied: That's really interesting!
Our population is 28,379 and the median household income is $36,346.
I looked up the town we lived in for a couple years when Dh was in college and the population is 7,494 and the median household income is 37,661.
julesmom replied: 3444 population $61,343 median income
amynicole21 replied: Very cool! Our pop is 24,112 and median income is $55,434. I'm shocked to see just how WHITE my city is 82.9% white, 9.5% latino and 3% black. Crazy.
