Gas may go up again.... - just wonderful..."sigh"
luvbug00 wrote: SO the latest talk on the news here is that gas prices are expected to hit 5 bucks after this hurricane hits because it may hit the oil area of texas ( but i'm not sure where that is...) So the news said to fill your tanks..
Oh I'm all over that! I did it this morning!
redchief replied: There's no doubt about it. The greed-meisters have already started jacking prices here. We just decided we're walking as much as we can and no more special trips. Every trip we take is a "multi-tasking" trip. We figure we'll use about 1/3 less fuel that way. If everyone does that, it'll pinch the buggers right back (although we'll still be spending quite a bit more on trips that way since fuel prices are up over 100% from last year).
I'm sure the government will give the oil companies some more tax incentives not to raise prices too much. Grrrrrr!
My2Beauties replied: Oh joy! I'm going to fill up both our tanks tonight then!
mckayleesmom replied: *&^^%$#@
mammag replied: I hear that! That is going to really start putting a crimp on my budget this season. I'm going to fill up on gas tonight before Jiu-Jitsu and then if it ends up hitting $5 I'm probably going to cut the boys back to one day a week until it goes back down. We drive about 25minutes to get there so it takes up a lot of gas for two days a week. I hope it doesn't get to that point though. I'm going to start doing the Ed thing also and save everything that I can up for one trip.
Mom2Boyz replied: Gas here is already on the rise it seems It went from $2.28 yesterday to $2.41 today.
ions_momma replied: Gas in our town went up 12 cents today and I am sure it will go up even more within the next few days
holley79 replied: I live on the Gulf Coast and am so over all this hurricane crap. It's getting expensive to continue filling tanks, the loss of food, ect. It's not only the aftermath that is costly for us, it's the preping. I know Pensacola is going to get their Katrina/ Rita in due time. I WILL BE LEAVING FOR THAT!!!! I stayed for Ivan and Dennis and I am so over it. I can't handle no power, no air conditioning, and the swelling that comes with the stupid barameteric pressure is HORRIBLE.
Then to top it off, if NAS PCola takes another direct hit like they did for Ivan DH and I will have to move because his hanger/ planes will be in another part of the country.
Ok I have gripped enough. I am at work and bored, trying to stay awake. Going to finish painting the nursery tonight since I have to stay up later.
MomToMany replied: Ugh, I hope it doesn't! But just in case, DH & I both took a vehicle to town & filled up. With his truck & my van it was $111 at $2.77 a gallon . Yikes!
mom21kid2dogs replied: It went up a dime overnight here, too. Nice
jcc64 replied: We've been hovering around the $3 mark since the summer. The gov't is not going to take care of you. The only solution is to conserve, as others have already pointed out. Easier said than done when so many of us drive gas guzzling behemonths. And god help us in the colder regions of the country when the heating season starts. I'm legitimately afraid of my heating bills. I live in an old house, it's not large, and we keep our heat around 62 degrees during the winter. There's not alot of room for cutting back, kwim? Yikes!
luvbug00 replied: it was 2.79 yeaterday this mornign up 10cents to 2.89 just wonderful.
My2Beauties replied: I filled up DH gas tank last night, it was $2.54 a gallon but his car has to take unleaded plus or premium of course he has to buy one of THOSE cars! It cost $45 to fill up his tank Big ol' tank! Jeanne I am afraid of our heating bill too, we live in a house that is over 100 years old, it does have good insulation but I'm just scared that that really won't matter at all! I swear our gov't needs to step in and do something if that dumb gas gets up that high I won't even get into that debate though
jcc64 replied: Don't bother getting into the debate, LeaAnn. It's maddening.
msoulz replied: Up 20 cents over night in many stations here near Detroit. We filled up yesterday in anticipation, but that only works for a week or so. Good thing I'll be out of work soon!!
huggybugboy replied: I dont get it...Where are all you guys who pay less than $3 a gallon?? I live way far away from the hurricane thing (California) and it went up to 3.30 a gallon! Then it went back "down" to 3.17 and you feel like you're saving money! I'm afraid to look at what its back up to today...I'm just glad that we both drive 4 cylinder cars and work less than 5 minutes away. But still if we want to go shopping we have to drive 25 minutes...AAAH!
luvbug00 replied: Well prices are rising every coupple hours here. now it's 2.99. In another town an hour away gas is 2 bucks and people from here are driving there to fill up and fill up those red gas holder things.
mckenziesmom replied: Is this even for people NOT in Texas???.......If it is dh and I are movng to Bulgaria.........j/k
