GRRRR why!?!?!
MM'sMama wrote: Why in the H-E double hockey sticks did our medical Ins. have to go up so much this year. We have it threw DH's work, and this year we are paying $200 more a month and everything has gone way way way way up. Co-Pays have doubled, meds have tripled, and don't even get me started on the deductable (sp?). I know I really shouldn't be whining and should be thanking my lucky stars we have Ins. to begin with. But it just drives me crazy! I just got the mail and theres a bill from when we had to take Brice to the ER a couple weeks ago and its $2,700 out of that we have to pay $2,000 due the 20th on THIS month. GGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR we need our tax refunds NOW!
Sorry for whining and venting on all of you.
PrairieMom replied: 2 words. Insurance sucks. nuff said.
CantWait replied: Holy Crap, that does seem like quite a lot to pay for insurance every month, on top of whatever you were paying before, and only getting a $700 break for the hospital bill. You're still paying more with the insurance, what the ______ is the use.
Sorry just makes no sense to me.
mckayleesmom replied: Im so glad we have military insurance....We would probably be on the streets in debt if we didn't.....I agree with Marie...that doesn't sound right.
MM'sMama replied: My point exactly. Now given after we pay the hospital our deductable for Brice will paid. But geez whats the point! It almost seems we should just save the money and if something comes up then we have it. But DH thinks if we don't have it something REALLY bad will happen and we would be SOL! And $2,000 by the 20th what do they think I have a tree in my kitchen and I can just get it from! I'm going to have to call them monday and make ether payments or see if they can wait till we get our tax refund.
CAMSMOM1 replied: We pay $120 dollars every week for insurance!!! Over 500 dollars a month for the 3 of us! And we still have a 20 dollar co-pay, same for perscriptions. And we have a $1,000 dollar deductiable (for each person) if we are ever hospitalized! So when we have our 2nd baby, we better be ready to pay a grand to have a kid! It's just nuts!
PrairieMom replied: the sad thing is that the average person could never save enough money to cover "if someting really bad happens" so bad insurance is still better than none at all. What a racket!
MamaJAM replied: As a family who's been paying for our own insurance for about 8 years now....I TOTALLY understand. Feel free to vent away.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Wow that's a lot to pay! That really stinks I'm sorry. That's one good thing about Dh working in a factory ~ the insurance is pretty good. Allthough if it hadn't been for medical assistance we'd still be paying the hospital bills from having Andrew probably.
MM'sMama replied: Thanks I really needed to know I'm not alone
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Karah, I feel your pain. I really do. Logan's hospital bill alone from his last surgery was nearly $50,000. That was before any bills from the surgeon, ICU doctors, anesthesia, radiology, and all that other stuff. My insurance paid the majority of it, working for a hospital does have some advantages. But I know how expensive healthcare is. I am sorry things went up so high for you. I am sure the hospital will work out a payment plan with you. From their point of view, some money is better than no money. Hugs, honey. Just think, the rest of the year you should be pretty much ok.
MM'sMama replied: Kelly honey thank you I really needed to hear that. But lordy $50,000 I'm so glad you have good insurance OY! But I know what you mean. And Logan was such a little trooper I'm so glad hes doing so well. Give him some hugs for me.
