Furries got me thinking about Nutella - Is it healthy?

CantWait wrote: LOL laugh.gif I say NOT!!!

However that commercial always gets me going. When I was in school my grade 3/4 teacher would always tell us that Nutella was not allowed in her class for lunch or snack period because it was nothing but chocolate and didn't allow for a healthy mind to learn.

Now to be perfectly honest, I've never read the ingrediant list for Nutella before, but I have ate it and it tastes like pure chocolate to me.

So what's your say?

Boys r us replied: I've never tasted it...but I've contemplated it in the peanutbutter aisle! LOL...
I was actually thinking how much the kids would love me if I made them chocolate peanutbutter sandwiches!!!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Oh it's so not healthy, but it's yummy. It has hazelnuts in it too. I love that stuff I can't be near it because I will eat it right from the jar. blush.gif

A&A'smommy replied: not healthy but SOOO freaking good!!

MotherForever2043 replied: I'm personally not a fan of anything containg nuts, but I have heard very good things about Nutella though.

Anthony275 replied: I love it

I eat it with a spoon right out of the jar, (my own jar) and it melts??? idk why but it always does this when you use a spoon

Anthony275 replied: Now I'm tempted to go get the jar in my cabinet. thanks a lot

luvmykids replied: I love it but don't buy it because I have NO self control. I've been eating that stuff for years and years tongue.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Probably because the leftover saliva on your spoon gets into the jar everytime you put it back in... and it breaks down the nutella, making it more liquid...

kinda like baby food jars, you shoul dneer feed the baby out of the baby food jar unless the jar is to be finished...bcause the saliva breaks down the food.

Kinda gross, if you ask me.

Anthony275 replied: that will never stop me from being away from my one true love

luvbug00 replied: I ADORE it!!!! smile.gif

Crystalina replied: In Germany I grew up with Nutella. rolling_smile.gif
Who the heck cares if it's healthy? emlaugh.gif

Cece00 replied:
Honestly, I dont know that its THAT much worse for you than PB.

JIF regular PB has

190 Calories
16 g fat
150 mg sodium
7 carbs
3g sugar
8 g protein
no calcium

So Nutella has way less fat, less calories, less sodium and less carbs. It just doesnt have as much protein.

I think a Nutella sandwich isnt that bad.

That being said- do you know I've NEVER had any? I've never even seen it in a store.

Crystalina replied:
Wow! Great info there. I would never have thought to compare the two.

I'll mail you some. rolling_smile.gif

holley79 replied: I have never even heard of it. wacko.gif

grapfruit replied: Nobody checked out the ingredience huh? I'll look when I go to WalMart and have Cyndi post it. smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: It's not all chocolate, it has hazelnut in it........and Mmmmmmmmmmm so good! I don't buy it, but it reminds me of being in Paris where I ate it straight out of the jar (I was only 18 so I could eat anything at the time). tongue.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hey I have a jar. Well it's the PC brand...but hang on........
