Fun day turned frustrating :(

ammommy wrote: We decided to go to the children's museum today since it is in the low 90's and humid. The Indy children's museum is awesome and we have a pass. We went with a friend and her 3 kids figuring it was a great way for them to run off some energy. The twins are only 1, so I figured that we would have to stop and eat lunch or get a snack. No big deal. Well, at about 11:30, my friend says "ready to go?" HUH?!?!? We had only seen 3 exhibits and still had 2.5 floors to go. I guess that when she and her children go, they see the 2 things that her son wants to see, then take off because it's easier to deal with the girls at home.

Alec threw the fit of all fits he was so disappointed. He said something to the effect of "I let Nicky see what he wanted to see first, when is it my turn?" I felt so bad because we came in one car, so really had to go. My friend asked how long we usually stayed and I said about 4 hours. She was shocked. I now know to make sure to ask about plans before we go on outings, again. I promised Alec that we could go back tomorrow to see the rest. I felt so bad for him.

BTW, if anyone ends up in Indianapolis I really recommend spending a day at the Children's museum. It's that good thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: awwww that is NO fun!!! I kinda think that was selfish of your friend you could have at least seen a few more things or took a lunch break or something... I hope you guys have a better time tomorrow!!

kit_kats_mom replied: Well, that sure stinks. We are going there on our trip in August. I can't wait!

MissyKay2005 replied: Sorry you had that happen for the kids sad.gif Can you go again with just your kids this time? To make up for it.

ian'smommy replied: ammommy, where do you live? We are only 2 hours from Indy. We have been wanting to take Ian there sometime... Maybe we can go with you sometime.... We would stay as long as you, no ducking out early... laugh.gif I think that would be a lot of fun.. biggrin.gif

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out the way you hoped.

ammommy replied:
I pm'd you. I don't want to give out too much info because of a cybercreep problem not too long ago.

ian'smommy replied: oh ok... I didn't even think of that... thanks for reminding me... unsure.gif

Josie83 replied: Aw I'm sorry thatyour day was ruined, lisa. I'm not surprised that Alec was upset. Anyone would be! That was so sweet of him to let his friend see what he wnated first too. Iagree with Jess, I think it was a bit selfish too. i hope you have a better day today! xx

Kaitlin'smom replied: We are thinking of taking Kait there a bit later this year alsong with either the zoo or water park, making it a weekend out of it, we are not that far. thanks for the info, now I really want to go. smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I don't know how far away I am...what city is it in? We are at Fort Knox Kentucky, but we are talking about going to see dh's family at the end of August and staying at a hotel and doing something for the day...maybe we can take Mckaylee there.

ammommy replied: It's in Indianapolis. Not sure how far that is.

MommyToAshley replied: Awee, Lisa, I am sorry your outing was ruined. mad.gif Your friend should have communicated her intentions before she left. I don't understand the big deal about feeding her twins there? dunno.gif

At least you have passes and can go back and spending more time.
