A&A'smommy replied: THIS SUCKS!!!

DaddyDayCare replied: Can some please hit the reset button and lets start the past year over again! wacko.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: The thing for us here at work is...

All of your frozen food and meat.. takes diesel to run the reefer units to keep your food good..

It is one thing for the TRUCK to run out... but when the reefer unit does ... it ruins what it is hauling..

I complete loss of a trailer load of chicken is 60 grand to 100 grand..

Mel

Boys r us replied: This is so mind boggling!!! It's not even within my comprehension that we are running out of gas!

But anyone who comes here, come see me.. I'm 2 minutes away..that's my exit!! biggrin.gif

ROANOKE, VA: I-81 & US 220 @ EXIT 150. ACCESS LOC# 5046. 100 GALLON ALLOCATION PER TRANSACTION

Kaitlin'smom replied: oy, that means not just gas prices will go up but any delevery service will go up. guess it time to bucle down and watch the spending. so much for a vacation this year for us.

A&A'smommy replied: Yeah we know a few people that said that there would probably be another "depression" soon and this could be the thing that causes it! sad.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I checked gas prices here last night. Regular unleaded was 1.49, but diesel was up to 1.98. Outrageous.

Boys r us replied: WHAT???? $1.49??? We haven't seen prices like that in 5 years here!!!

Our gas prices have been nudging $3 bucks for at least a year! and around $2.50 for the 4 years before that!

mom2tripp replied:
Where in the world are you at???? THAT SOUNDS AWESOME

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
Oops, I meant 2.49 wishful thinking I guess. and 2.98 for diesel. Wow, I must be living in 1998. blush.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: Here diesel is cheaper by a dime

2.99 and diesel 2.89..so far..

But we are running out!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I am far enough north and west and off the beaten path that I don't think we'll see shortages for a while yet. But diesel has been more expensive here by about 10 cents for at least a month.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: ohmy.gif Holy Moly Mel! What are we going to do? Dh just got home and layed down but right before he did we were talking about how shipping is going to HAVE TO GO UP! Can't haul for $2.50-$2.65 a mile when diesel is $2.95 a gallon! At $2.50 it was costing $0.50 a mile to run. unsure.gif Our business has always had it's ups and downs due to the market. Times get tough Times get great! We have been hauling ALOT this year...even with fuel rising but until now it has been mostly the trucking company taking the profit hit. We have gone up on mileage slightly but not what could have been going on now nobody is going to have a choice- bawling.gif I am VERY WORRIED!!!!

TANNER'S MOM replied: I know Girl.. It is hard right now.. Especially on the O/O...

Between fuel and insurance... it is hard to keep on the road.. Heaven help a break down.

I know that we will not run out of fuel.. things will get back to normal.. Stations will began getting there delivery's of gas and diesel... but wether the price goes down again ... we will have to see.

We have trucks fall out on loads for 2 days.. they need 3-4 dollars a mile to be cost efficent.... but the our CUSTOMER's haven't gotten that desperate.. but they will..

Prayers to your family Abbie.. you will be fine.. love2.gif love2.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We will be ok. Like you said customers will get that desperate! This country has to have trucks-most people do not realize how much! If the super Walmarts and other grocery chains start running out of stuff the general public will freak and the mileage pay will go up! Nobody wants it to come to that but you can't haul for the joy of hauling! sleep.gif
