my boss once encountered a black cat on the road while driving and ended up making left turns to avoid it. so he gets his wife to drive him to work on friday the 13th
share your stories.
lisar replied: Sorry I am not superstitious. But love to hear stories about the ones that are.
hopefulmomtobe replied: Nope, nothing here, just another day. Not superstitious.
BUT - when I was in labor with my daughter on Tuesday the 13th, I was being a freak and saying "I dont want to have her on the 13th because her birthday will eventually fall on Friday the 13th" I had her in 94 and her Friday the 13th birthday was last year. I had her at 11:40pm on the 13th....couldnt hold her in any longer!
cameragirl21 replied: i'm only superstitious in that if i'm trying to explain something to someone about illness for example, i cannot say something to the effect of, "so if you had cancer then you would...." i always make up a pretend person. and when i talk to my friends with kids, i would never say, "so if your son got beat up in school...." i always say, "so if some kid at your son's school got beat up...." and lol, i was talking to my friend Pam, who's been my friend for over 10 years now so she knows i get superstitious about these things so i was talking about some disease (or something to that effect, i can't recall all the details) and it was a disease or maybe it wasn't even a disease but it had something to do with kids and my friend has a daughter and has no plans for more kids so i didn't want to use her daughter as an example so i said, "if you had a son then...." and she stopped me and said, "but what if i do have a son someday?!" because she knows how superstitous i am about using real people in examples. but i LOVE friday the 13th and i LOVE black cats! those are my fave kind. my cat is orange...i found her as a kitten and when i told my parents i had a new cat my mom's first question was, "is it black?" also, i used to have a phone number that started with 666...lol, it cracked me up when people would ask my number and with a straight face i'd say, "666...." and i'd see them crossing themselves in reaction!
amymom replied: I don't really fear Friday the 13th, but like to have fun with it.
Jennifer, I do the same things and don't like to use 'real' people in hypothetical situations. One time about 12 or 13 ( ) years ago, I said the reason I could not do something was that Billy was sick when he was not. And then he got really, really sick. Silly me. Never did that before or since!!!
Also Jennifer, part of my soc sec # is 666 so how about that!!! Scares people right out of their seats!
TheOaf66 replied: not superstitious at all

Cece00 replied: I'm not at all superstitious.
msoulz replied: I claim not to be supersitious, but I do find some wood to knock on every now and again, although I don't really believe it helps, I figure it can't hurt!!
