For those wanting to lose weight in 2006

I know a more universal day would be better for me so I could be supported and also help those who need my support as well.
Also if you are wanting to do this we could start this week, unless Monday or Sunday becomes the day, then we can start next week. We can post our weigh-in weight, goal weight and anything else we'd like to add. Maybe?

coasterqueen replied: Well I sorta do Weight Watchers. I'm not counting points like I did the first time I did the diet which was before I had Megan, but I know the general idea of it all. I gained a few pounds back between the holidays here just by straying a bit so I will need to get back on track. I go for a weight loss of 1 pound a week. I could do 2 but I don't want to get upset and quit if I don't one week or so, kwim? No pressure is the key for me. I am also going to add exercising as soon as DH and I can back into a routine now that he's home and goes back to work tomorrow.
Maybe each week when we weigh in, give our goal, say whatever else we can add what helped us that week lose the pounds or what made us not lose/gain. I also will get back to writing in my diet journal which helps me keep on track.
3_call_me_mama replied: I'm doing eating healthy and cutting calories. also I got a gazelle for christmas (and a pilates ball and video) so I am gonna do gazelle 2 times a day and teh pilates every 2 days cause it KILLS! that along with teh modified eating plan should have no problem losing 2 lbs a week. I KNOW i can because i haev before. When i did WW and NO excercise I lost 4 lbs a week but gave up cause i hated writing everythign down. So If we are gonna do a weigh in on wednesday's I'm in. Are we gonna start this wednesday?

booey2 replied: I didn't vote because we don't have a scale and I am really trying not to focus on the numbers right now. With that being said I am slowly getting back into the swing of things by starting to follow WW on the core program and doing my gazelle for at least 1 mile a day. I started on Sunday with a mile and it was about 12 and half minutes and then yesterday we went to the zoo and walk for an hour and half so I didn't do it then. Today I am back on it after work for at least a mile. I will be here to cheer you all on and will report on my inches lost and exercise done.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I also said wed, tues woudl be better for me but I can do wed just means I have to be better on tuesdays. (work late there for dinner runs late ) I am cutting back on portions again and blending in some sort of exersize a day weither I got to the gym, walk on my life walker or do a video it does not matter as long as I do something each day, NO excuses (thanks for that one Mel ). My goal is 1-2 lbs a week. Over all I need to drop another 30-40lbs. I want to see what 30 is like before I commit to 40lbs.
Oh and more water for me as well.
I can and will do this. I lost just over 5lbs in December so at that rate it really wont be long before 30 lbs is gone.
MommyToAshley replied: Any day is fine with me. I actually weigh myself every day. I can't help it... the scale is in the bathroom and it calls my name when I walk in there in the morning. It's funny, I never owned a scale until I got PG with Ashely and now I am obsessed with it. But, what I found really faschinating is that my weight will really bounce around a lot. It will go up or down a pound or two every day. I hope we pick a day that it is usually down a pound.
redchief replied: I null voted. I'm not a big fan of weekly goals. I just want to get up every morning and feel better than I did yesterday. I figure if I can do that and stick to my exercise routine, the weight will go how it goes. Good luck to all of you.
coasterqueen replied: Why is it men are like that? Seriously. DH is the same way. He wants to lose the 10+ pounds he gained in Louisianna having to eat lots of fast food, but he's kinda like when it comes off it comes off, no big deal, blah blah blah. I wish I was that way. Course I am more laid back about how fast I lose it this time versus after I had Kylie.

jem0622 replied: I voted Wednesday. I need to shed some weight (my good clothes won't fit when I do lose, but oh well). I need my energy back so I can keep up with the kids and not feel so sleepy all the time. The first few weeks might be rough, but I gotta do it.
DH needs to behave. He has had cholesterol issues and if he's eating right then his numbers are usually excellent. Also, he asked for the Tae Bo DVDs and I got them for him. And I have my pilates tape.

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm in too. We have a pre-paid gym membership that is not being used, and I have 30 lbs that need to be gone. Seems like those two problems can help each other!
