Flu Shot
CantWait wrote: Do you get it? How much is it in your area?
I don't think we'll be getting this year. There's a $25 charge per person. Robbie doesn't get sick often, and Ron should be home to take care of me if I get sick this year, Anthony isn't around children often right now so I'm hoping he'll be ok. I just can't afford $75.
gr33n3y3z replied: I wont be getting it bc I'm allergic to eggs its made with parts of an egg
But its free here its like a drive in type of deal they use a car dealership and you drive right up hang your arm out the window of your car and they give you the shot and you drive away.
ZandersMama replied: I never had it before but this year I will be getting it with my little man coming home in the middlee of flu season.
Edited to say i'm pretty sure it is free here, my folks get it every year and never mentioned a charge ( and dad would )
PrairieMom replied: my family and I get it for free since I work in a hospital. I don't know who all is going to get it tho. I never get mine and I have on;y gotten the flu once in 9 years of working in the hospital and being exposed to it constantly. Thank goodness for gloves and masks!
booey2 replied: The boys and I don't get it, Dh got it the past couple of years and he even got the flu one year after having the shot, so we don't bother with the kids. I think it is still free here in Ontario.
Terri
Hillbilly Housewife replied: It's free here... but we usually don't get it. We'll see how many colds my kids catch from her until december...with zach in school and the older daycare boy in school, there's a huge amount of germs going around in my house...
I know some of you disagree, and that's ok, but I'll stick to my colloidal silver.
mom2my2cuties replied: I don't usually get it - but both of the kids ALWAYS get it.
Also - our insurance covers it 100%...Otherwise it's like $30
ediep replied: Jason already got his at his 4 year well visit. I plan on getting it from my OB on Monday. DH hardly ever gets sick, so he won't get it
Our Lil' Family replied: Thomas got his at his 18 month and Tim just got his. With Tim being in clinicals next year I definitely wanted him to get it! I probably won't get it, the only time I ever did was when I was pregnant and I don't think I've ever had the flu.
mckayleesmom replied: I usually get the flu...even if I get the shot, so I usually don't get it. Im not sure if I will get the kids done this year or not.
mom2my2cuties replied: While he is in Clinicals you are going to need it too - the number of "ICKS" that he will be bringing home is just shocking.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Nope we won't get it...the only time I ever did I got the flu so bad I thought I was never gonna recover. We are just super careful during flu season and make sure to wash hands and use lots of wipes on carts and such while shopping
Boo&BugsMom replied: Nope, wont get it EVER again! Last time it made me so sick afterwards. Both Tanner and I have a bad sensitivity to immunizations so neither of us will be getting one. I stay healthy enough by eating right and taking vitamins.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I got mine today. I work around so many truck drivers that will sneeze and cough right on your desk..I needed it.
I am not sure if the kids will get it or not.
coasterqueen replied: Nope, my family will not be getting it. We believe the body should fight these things naturally and so that is just what our bodies will do if we get it. We've gotten the stomach bug, but never the actual flu in years...knock on wood.
It's free for us - Dh's work pays for it.
TheOaf66 replied: $23 here and no I am not getting one
CantWait replied: That is just a funny sight.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I got mine free through my employer (the hospital). Logan's will be through his ped and will prob cost me $10.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I used to think my body would fight it.. but once it didn't.
One thing I would like to mention is.. if you have older relatives that you visit often...please get the shot.. their bodies can't fight it like ours. We may carry it to them and not even realize we are fighting it.
When my grandma was sick and had a short time life her hospice nurse brought us the shot before we could visit with Grandma durning flu season.
I have tried to get it every since then, and especially when my step mom had cancer so bad.. it was important then too.
amynicole21 replied: Nora and Sophia were at the ped yesterday and they only recommended that Nora get it because of her age. Babies and old people can't fight it off as easily. So she got it, but no one else will unless we are at the doctor's office for something else anyway.
Ellie replied: I'm getting mine on Halloween. They are free from my employer. Since I work in a hospital-owned building, they encourage everyone to get one. We don't want all the sick people getting the flu from us.
Calimama replied: Yep I get it. The military pays for everything here so I dont know how much it would cost. But it's probably overpriced.. everything is in CA lol.
holley79 replied: I'm sorry but I just had a visual.
Have you check on post to see if they have a flu shot thingy. Usually you can find someplace to get a free flu shot.
I'm still debating getting Annika one.
martzfam27 replied: Im thinking of getting one, with my healthcare plan we could get one for $15. Everywhere else its about $20-$30
