Flintstones Vitamins

MyBabeMaddie wrote: So I probably could just switch to a different kind but Madison loves the red Flintstones.... I only give her half of one a day, but it kinda stinks that she will only eat the red ones. I've been taking the orange and purple ones, but with her only eating the red ones I"ll be buying more vitamins then I can keep up with.

Does anyone have a different vitamin they prefer for the kids?

MommyToAshley replied: Flintstone Complete are the ones most recommended. In a study, it was concluded that many otc vitamins did not have the specified amount of vitamins and minerals and were inconsistent from one vitamin to the next. This is dangerous because giving too much of one vitamin can cause a lot of health problems. The gummy vitamins were the worst for being inconsistent. Flintstone Complete were the most consistent of all the children's vitamins. So... I think I would stick with the Flintstone and just keep eating the extra yourself. Maybe eventually she will like at least the orange ones. (Ashley doesn't like the purples).

amynicole21 replied: Sophia prefers the red ones, too. I wonder why they don't make a whole bottle of just red ones? rolleyes.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I agree that Flintstones are the best. I can't stomach prenatal vitamins and my Dr. told me just take 2 Flintstones everyday - it's the same thing. I compared the labels and she was right - almost exactly the same!

I'm with Madison, though. The orange and purple are both yuck!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We use the gummy Princess ones. I know they are not as good as Flintstones in a study but Taylor won't touch the hard chewables for love nor money! I also like the Princess because they are iron free and the dangers of iron and little kids freaks me out.

ZandersMama replied: rolling_smile.gif Zander will only eat the purple ones..we should all do a swap emlaugh.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
lol!!

Best idea i've heard yet today. thumb.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Thats what I did when I was pregnant too....Prenatals made me way to sick.

Mckaylee and Russell eat them all....they are not picky about anything though.

Cece00 replied: We used to have those gummy ones....the kids liked them. Personally I cant blame kids for not liking the Flintstone ones, they are pretty gross IMO...so gritty!

And actually, now, I dont give them. My kids eat very well, lots of fruits vegs protein, water, calcium...you get the idea.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
I also take two flinstones instead of prenatals.
I was looking at the walmart brand kids chewables and they have differant amounts of differant things than the flinstones.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I buy Whole Foods brand children's multi. They are in the shape of cats and have no dyes or added sugar. I know the no dye won't help if your DD only eats red, but these taste good IMO and they are more natural, which I'm into.

Brias3 replied: My older two take the Flinstones still, and both prefer the red too. Mason takes a Scooby Doo gummy version and seems to like all the flavors offered in that one, so that might be an option for Maddie? They're the One a Day brand I believe.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: That's funny. Andrew eats them all so far - I get the chewables for 2-3 year olds. They should sell all the flavors separately as well as the multi-flavors - I'll bet there would be a lot of parents with picky kids who would buy them. tongue.gif

I took two flinstones instead of my prenatal when I was pg too. I started out with a prenatal both times but they made me feel sick, and I didn't like the taste of the coating on them.

Nina J replied: I have never tasted a flinstones multi vitamin. I am the only one in our house who has a multivitamin every day, I use Swisse Womens Ultivite. I have used other multi-vitamins before but I don't feel like they work, with Swisse I notice the difference. If I am away from home and forgot them for a couple of days, I notice the difference.
