She needs her nails trimmed (they grow so darn fast, and won't let me trim them!!) so I figured she did it herself. She already has several scratches on her face from that. I didn't ask the teachers about it, and they didn't say anything or even really notice. Well, as the night wore on her eye started to darken, and this morning she's got a lovely black eye. I asked the director at daycare this morning to ask her afternoon teachers whether they had noticed it earlier or not. I always get accident reports, but there was nothing yesterday. She isn't complaining or anything, but it looks awful Babies just shouldn't have black eyes...
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww poor girl. I hope it goes away fast!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awwww Poor Sophia! I hope you find out what happened! She could have walked into the corner of a table or something, my DS was famous for that! I hope it goes away soon!
booey2 replied: Poor girl . May it go away quickly and not mar her cute little face.
My boys are always covered in some sort of mark, be it a scratch, bruise or scrape. I just chalked it up to be a boy.
A&A'smommy replied: Awww poor baby! (((HUGS))) I hope it goes away really fast!
mommytosammy replied: oh dear, poor little miss.
I hope no one was picking on her.
sending get better vibes ~~~~~~~~get better sophia~~~~~
amynicole21 replied: Thanks, guys! I went to pick her up today and found out she had fallen on the playground. I guess I didn't see the incident report yesterday. I did, however, see TODAY'S incident report where she fell and split her lip open Black eye and split lip, it looks like I am beating this child So clutzy
paradisemommy replied: poor sophia...she's right up there with taven, but i (like terri) just chalk it up to him being a boy..he hurts himself all the time and unfortunately we can't be there for him 24 hours a day (following his every move to save him from his owies!!) but i know what you mean..i think everyone thinks i beat up taven too with all his marks!
kimberley replied: OMG poor Sophia! she sounds a lot like James was. he looked like a boxer with all his bruises and cuts. hope she heals quick.
aspenblue1 replied: Poor Sophia. I hope she heals up soon.
MilMunchMOM replied: Oh Nooooo! poor baby! My kids always do things like that if we are scheduled to get pictures. LOL
Jamison'smama replied: Poor Sophia--maybe she is going through a growth spurt--I hear they get more clutzsy then. Be sure to take a picture-- it sounds like we could have a photo assigment topic with all the bruisers we have here.
MommyToAshley replied: Aweeeee! ((((HUGS))))) Poor Sophia! I hope she heals quickly!
That is a thought, then I won't feel so bad about the pictures I have of Ashley when she scraped her face on the sidewalk. We were actually video taping her when she fell and caught it on camera... I still can't watch the video.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Awww poor Sophia. There was one week that Jade fell into the bathroom door and then scratched her face. She had this bruise on her forehead that looked like a straight line. I cringed everytime I looked at her. I guess it just comes with having a toddler.
Julie (jem0622) replied: Poor girly! Sorry to hear she has so many boo boos! Gabe is a klutz also. The one thing to check on (just to be sure) if they are falling down a lot is whether or not they need new shoes. When they get a squinch small it can sometimes affect their ability to walk/run/balance/etc.
