Fellow southerners...

Danalana wrote: or anybody, really...
Is it just me, or is this summer much milder than the last few? Alabama is usually unbearable from June til mid September (at least), but some of our days have been pretty mild. I just realized that there have been only a few sweltering days, and that is very unusual. Or maybe I'm just imagining it because I don't go out as much now that I am a stay-at-home mama... unsure.gif

luvmykids replied: I'm not a southerner (yet, LOL) but when we were in Ft. Worth they had record breaking heat....it ranged from 101-105 while we were there except for one or two days where it stayed in the high 90's.

Swood75 replied: Yes,it has been more mild but still A LOT of humidity though...I am ready for the days it only makes it up to 70 as a high.. wink.gif BTW,I am in SC..Monica,where is it you will be moving to and when?

A&A'smommy replied: yeah I TOTALLY noticed it too... normall its between 105-112 degrees everyday lately it has been inbetween 76 and 95.. Its been NICE!!! And it hasn't been that humid either thumb.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: I've noticed a couple of milder days lately, but I wouldn't say it's less than usual....it's still a sauna out there most days.

luvmykids replied:
Cordele, GA but I'm desperately hoping to avoid it....I had gotten on board but DH missed that window of oppurtinity rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif We're now looking at moving over the Christmas break because we farted around all summer and have changed our minds about what to do with the house, etc so in other words, I have no idea when laugh.gif

Calimama replied: I'm not really a southerner.. unless you count that I live in Southern CA.. but I've noticed it's a lot cooler here too. We've never needed AC, we can get by with our windows open but this summer they don't even need to be open. In fact Miabella's room gets too cold if they are open.

Swood75 replied: I hope things work out for you the way you want them to..I am not familiar with that part of Ga..And Denise,I wish it was already that cool here..I hate the electric bill being so much because of me cutting the air down even more... tongue.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: It's been a lot rainier than usual here... our temp has been mostly in the early 20s... but there's been quite a bit of 29+ days too. It's been comfortable!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: We haven't had hardly any rain, but we've had a lot of nice breezes. Even on the hot days. I haven't noticed the heat as much b/c we usually stay in the pool. The only day it bothered me is when the air conditioner broke...but I just took the kids swimming until it was fixed. rolling_smile.gif But I guess for the most part our temps are staying in the 90's.

mom21kid2dogs replied: With the exceptionof a very few days, it's been very mild in Ohio. This week the humidity has yet to go over 50%~unheard of in Ohio in August. We've only has 1 90 degree day this month~Aug 1st. So not complaining (except it's a little chilly for the pool!)

MommyToAshley replied:
I agree... it doesn't feel like August at all. I wasn't too thrilled with Ashley going back to school so early, but it seems like she got the back to school weather even though it's just the middle of August.

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
They lie so much down here to fool the tourists rolling_smile.gif 101*-105* is so normal! cool.gif rolling_smile.gif
We have not been mild at all here! It has been HOT and HOTTER cool.gif

DillsMommy replied: It's been milder here too. I had the AC off Monday and Tuesday. And it gets cold at night! Which is not normal for here, being MID august.

Danalana replied: Don't get me wrong, it's still been hot....but it's a different kind of hot, somehow. Kinda like somebody else said--less humid? The humidity here is usually unreal and I HATE summer. I'm so excited that my favorite time of year is coming--Fall/Winter AND FOOTBALL! But I'm going to the beach again in a few days so that will be fun too smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: I'm not a southerner, but this summer has been odd here too. Usually here August is the hottest month but it's been in the 70's and 80's for the last week when usually it's around 90 to 100+. And this year we've had more storms than normal.

A&A'smommy replied:
OMG I"M SOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT FOOTBALL!!!!!

ROLL TIDE!!!!

Brias3 replied: I can't wait for football season either!

But it seems as though this summer has been "unusual". We've had hot days, and have lingered around 90 for the past few weeks, but its been different. Nights are borderline cold. If Bruce isn't home and I fall asleep on the couch, when I wake up to go to bed, I'm frozen if I don't have the windows shut!

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
Monica, do I have to come out there and get you? wink.gif happy.gif

It hasn't been too bad here either. Oh it is hot, but last year about this time we had recored highs in the 100's range. We have gotten a bunch more rain this summer too.

lisar replied: Well here in Florida its been pretty darn hot some days. The heat index got to 115 the other day. It was bad. I wouldnt even go outside to smoke a cig, I just went without.
