Feeling better - update

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: Thank you all so much for your kind words and support. I am feeling so much better. I suspect I just had the baby blues. I was feeling much like what DansMom described. I felt lonely and isolated, a bit overwhelmed and didn't necessarily want anyone around, but needed a little help. I'm not used to asking others to do things for me and with DH working such crazy hours I hated asking him to go to the store for me. There were just things that I needed that I know he wouldn't be able to find. wink.gif DH is actually being so wonderful and supportive. He is always right there when I need him...I was just being very hormonal (as can be expected). He understands this. I felt so good after Ethan was born...I never thought I would get the blues days later. My mom came into town and I went to the store while she watched the kids for a couple of hours. It helped to get out for a little while. Maddie is back in school this week and while I have been sooooo busy, it has been good to be busy again and actually have something to do other than sit in the house.

Ethan is doing very well. He is the perfect angel. He sleeps so well and is eating well, too. I cannot express how good he is. It is such a relief after having a high needs child. We finally got regulated on the breastfeeding and we are both much happier. biggrin.gif The pain in my shoulders and neck is subsiding as well and I am much more comfortable during feedings.

Maddie is doing great. She was so happy to be back in school with all her friends. She was eager to talk about her new baby brother and showed her album at circle time. She also wore her big sister shirt. biggrin.gif She is such a big help to me and has been very sweet. She has her moments, but after all she is only 3!! She looks so big to me...it's funny how you always picture them as your little baby and now she is the big sister.

Thanks again for all your positive thoughts. I'm hanging in there and things are getting better day by day. grouphug.gif I'm back in most of my regular clothes. I was so relieved to be able to wear my normal jeans and get out of the pj bottoms. I don't know if I am back down to pre pregnancy weight, but I still have about 15 pounds to lose after that anyway. wink.gif The swelling in my legs and feet finally went down and I feel like a normal person.

Sorry this got so long. I have a lot of catching up to do on the board! I can't believe how little time I have now to do the simple things I used to do. unsure.gif

DansMom replied: I'm so glad you're feeling better! I remember when my swollen ankles disappeared it was such a relief, and fitting into my old clothes---well, sort of anyway---was a great feeling. That point in time where you start to settle into the nursing and it feels more natural and comfortable for both you and baby, that's when you really start to feel like things will be okay---at least that's how it was with me: the baby blues subsided after that. Ethan sounds like a dream baby! And it sounds like Maddie is doing really well with the big change in her life. You've got a great family! Thanks for letting us know how you're doing.

MommyToAshley replied: wavey.gif Hi Aimee! I am sooo glad that things are settling down and you are feeling better. I had a rough time the first couple of months too, and I only had Ashley to take care of. Although, Ethan sounds like a dream baby! wub.gif I can only imagine how proud Maddie must be of her little brother... I bet they are wonderful together. I just love your siggy pictures, they look like two little angels sleeping.

And, I have to say that I am jealous that you can fit in your pre-PG jeans already. You are an inspiration to the rest of us. rolling_smile.gif
