Fathers day is right around the corner

kit_kats_mom replied: Not sure what I'm getting hubby but I can share one thing that he LOVES that most other guys in our neighborhood covet...a backpack cooler. I know of at least 5 guys in the neighborhood who are getting them this year for fathers day

I'm not getting Ryan anything just as I told him not to get me anything. The girls did get me flowers and a card, though. I may have them get him something small, but not sure yet. We just bought a camper so that is sort of a joint gift and comes with all kinds of other expenses. We are also spending a week at a resort the week of Father's Day (2 days of it for work) -- so maybe we'll find him something when we go shopping at the cute boutiques downtown.

coasterqueen replied: Ryan does get a couple of weeks worth of new golf shirts when we go on our vacation to the resort. He gets them every year. Maybe that counts.?

3_call_me_mama replied: My dad passed away back in march so father's day this year will be especially hard for me.. For DH we will jut have gotten back from Disney, so might have the kids just make cards and maybe shorts for summer or something.. no clue really.. DH birthday is next wed, so I need to figure that out before i worry about fathers day! I was thinking a adventure gift type thing in Disney like scuba diving at epcot.. but he woudl freak if he knew the cost! so maybe i'll do that back pack cooler idea

IKWYM, I need to focus on our anniversary that is coming up before Father's Day. I don't think we'll get each other anything for that, either, since we got the camper. We went credit-card free last year so we are really trying to be responsible w/our money which means sometimes we don't do gifts on every occasion.

Boys r us replied: We've really become more of a couple that doesn't do gifts for every single hallmark holiday...we're kind of at that point where we each just buy what we want anyhow..so why stress over what to get each other! LOL
Not to say that mother's day/father's day isn't special. But for Mother's day..I asked just to let me sleep in and for him to deal with the kids and do spend the day together. Well, we stayed at the lake as a family and spent good quality time together and he let me sleep in etc etc. For Father's day, we'll be at the beach on vacation. So I think I will take kid duty for the day and let him go play golf for the day. and a card of course!

I'm sorry. My dad died on V-day this year so I understand. If DH wasn't such an amazing daddy, I'd skip Father's day this year.

Our Lil' Family replied: Well we have our anniv and his birthday before Father's Day! He wants an espresso machine....great ANOTHER small appliance to fill my overflowing pantry! He NEEDS new tennis shoes. So he'll get one for bday and one for Father's Day, lol.

3xsthefun replied: I have no clue. He didn't really buy me a gift for Mother's day but did cook. So I may just do something for him like cook him a nice dinner or let him sleep in that morning.

We have Maddie's TENTH birthday on June 2, Scotty's is on June 8 and David's FIRST b-day on June 24th. Throw Father's Day in there and it's too much to worry about.
