Eyebrow help please
coasterqueen wrote: I have my eyebrows waxed every 2 weeks or so. I love my lady who does them but somehow over the months she's managed to thin them out WAY too much. Honestly I didn't really notice (not time to pay attention, lol) until DH came back from Louisiana and said something. Then I started looking at pics and did notice it too, now I HATE them this way. I asked Paula how I get them back to the way they were, without blaming her, lol, and she said you just have to let them grow. WAH!!!!
So has this ever happened to anyone and how to you deal with the growth? OMG, I'm looking at them now and it's sooooo embarassing! I want to run to the bathroom with tweezers and pluck away, but I really want them a bit thicker (wider), they are way too skinny almost non-existant now.
Where was I when she was doing them this thin? So sleep deprived I guess.
Edit for grammar.
moped replied: Once I had a bad wax job and I did have to let them jsut grow out as frustrating as that is - give it 3 months
TANNER'S MOM replied: Yes I have been there and I have done this to myself too. The new growth is hard to deal with. I am an eyebrow fanitic. So here is what I did.. they have wax.. I have used that if the new growth is sticking out..and they have this cheap Maybelline make up... It looks like eyeshadow..but it is eyebrow shadow..and it has a brush type in it. Not a pen..you know. So I feel like it covers and lays down the new hairs..it makes it alot easier to manage this way.
TANNER'S MOM replied: And this ... It comes in clear..so u don't have to match your perfect color
Kaitlin'smom replied: WOW Mel I had no clue they had those products, I only remember mom using the pencils and then her brows look fake. I dont have mine waxed but I do groom them once a week and once I went in a bit to far, wow was that hard to let grow out but it did in about a month.
luvmykids replied: I have naturally thin brows and SWEAR by Smashbox Cosmetics (available on QVC or Smashbox.com) Brow Tech. The taupe is totally neutral, everyone I know uses it and it is the only thing I will use!
CosmetologyMommy replied: I would suggest just plucking the stragglies and using an eyebrow pencil until they grow in
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Use a BLONDE eye liner to "lighty thicken" out where the hair is growing - so it looks like you have hair already... then use a powder similar to your brow color, and brush it on lightly.
Lightly being the key here - you don't weant them to have that painted on look.
We had to deal with that all the time with Mary Kay esthetics classes.... a thin line just isn't natural. Find me ONE tv makeup commercial model with thin eyebrows... they're all "full" and shaped. Not thinned out.
coasterqueen replied: THANK YOU everone! Seriously! I will be getting and trying out these things this weekend. I just can't look at my eyebrows like this for 3 months. I swear everyone is staring at them now. I have really dark dark brown hair, almost black, and so it's VERY VERY noticeable. BLAH!
Paula told me to use a shadow versus a pen but I didn't know they made them especially for eyebrows. Thanks Mel!
Here's hoping I can make them look decent for a bit.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: if you have really dark brows, then use a brown - don't use black. Veru common mistake.... a lighter shade helps it blend.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I bought the shadow kind from a salon back in 1997 and still have it today! I know that sounds a bit gross, but I love it and it lasts a long time! You don't really use that much at one time. Only kind I will use because I think it looks more real than a pencil. Get a good brush and stroke up and out, like a feather. Pluck your overly noticeable strays, but leave the others that are closer to the brow and fill in. Glad to know that it's easier to find this product now.
moped replied: LOL - True.........................I have to say that I get many compliments on my eyebrows (wierd) because they are a great shape and just the right thickness......kwim?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: me too.
MyLuvBugs replied: My sympathies....I've done that a couple times myself. But the truth is, you just have to let them grow back in and hope that no one notices. Sorry.
