Exciting news

I didn't even know that they accepted kids into Mensa. When I think of Mensa, I think of geeky old men sitting around writing equations that are pages long and talking about rocket science. That would be of no interest or value to Ashley. But, from the information I have read so far, they have some neat programs for kids, like "Mind Games" where mensa members get to test games before they go on the market.

I don't know how much they do in our area for kids, but I was reading through the information they sent for parents of mensa members, and it really has given me some insight on why Ashley says and does some of the things that she does -- especially the part where she is so hard on herself for making any mistakes.

Anyways, I just wanted to share our exciting news. You guys are like family, I have to share the good and the bad when it happens.

I worked for a Dr. once that was a Mensa member ... and well, he was old and geeky .. just as you suggested!!

Though we all always knew how brilliant Ashley, it's nice to have it recognized by an outside, unbiased source, especially one as prestigious as Mensa! A big fat congratulations to the whole family--enjoy your success--you ALL deserve it!

As for celebrating, I think Rod just told her that she could have some extra money on her i-tunes account to download some apps. She's addicted to her i-touch! LOL
