Ever get the urge to be irresponsible

I just want to say 'no' to all of it and become an irresponsible parent some days. I resist the urge but boy would I like to blow a wad of money on a vacation or better yet quit my job.

Our Lil' Family replied: Actually DH are feeling that right now. We know we'll have some left over money from his student loan coming up soon and we're deciding how to blow it! We're tired of never buying for ourselves! I REALLY want a new computer monitor and he REALLY wants a flat panel TV....he also NEEDS new tires and a new top for his Jeep....we'll see!

coasterqueen replied: SO many times!!!! Especially with our 10 year anniversary coming up. I feel like we deserve to go somewhere nice, but we won't.

holley79 replied: Boy do we ever have moments like that. We have resisted the urge for the most part though. I did splurge and get my hair cut last Friday though for the first time since April.

MommyToAshley replied: You should be proud of yourself for being so responsible. I get urges like that all the time. I think you should do something for yourself. Maybe you can't take an expensive vacation right now... but go do something small for yourself like get a massage or a manicure. You deserve to do something for yourself once in awhile!

Nina J replied: I get those urges too, sometimes I do spend way to much money on myself and feel bad, but I'm getting better at resisting the urge

i get the urge too but i approach it a little differently than whisking off to paradise or blowing tons of cash. i just have a "kid" day. after all the necessary things are done, we make a bowl of popcorn or chips and stay up late talking, watching movies and playing silly games. you'd be amazed how good it feels to beat your kids at clue and laugh like you don't have a care in the world after a pillow fight.
