Energy ??

Yesterday I was at Walmart and there was this little boy about 4 or 5 in a cart his mom was pushing. The child was super super hyper and bouncing off walls pretty much.....typical for that age.....Later I saw them again and the mom was letting him eat 2 Energy bars.....the kind they sell by the diet supply stuff......
I don't know about the rest of you, but anything with the word ENERGY is the last thing I would give Mckaylee or Russell....
Also...is there any danger in giving those to kids......Im kind of clueless about them in the first place, but do they have any kinds of herbal stimulants in them at all?
Calimama replied: No way. I once saw a mom pour an energy drink into her son's sippy cup. My first thought is why would you do that to him?... my next thought was why would you do that to yourself.
luvmykids replied: My kids tell everybody "Mom likes Red Bull but we can't have any because it's too much ENERGY"
CantWait replied: I agree that's crazy.....
You're to funny.
Miranda1127 replied: that is crazy. they specifically say adult nutritional (sp?) supplement. some people
C&K*s Mommie replied: I may be uneducated about it, but I see no harm in a little here and there if I myself and enjoying it. My kids having uncontained energy is worse when they are far and beyond tired, thye get extremely hyper the more tired they become.
Miranda1127 replied: they are formulated for adults like vitamins, you would never give your child an adult vitamin (right).energy bars, drinks, etc. are not intended for children. you should read the label and make sure that it is save. also check the co website for more info on the product.
good luck with it
mckayleesmom replied: These were energy bars that have vitamins and other stuff in them......some of them....including the one he was eating can be dangerous to children if eaten to many Im sure.....especially the ones with Iron in them...Iron in abundance can be very harmful to children.
This little boy had two in his hand eating them and the mom handed him the box with the rest in them.
Hope that makes more sense Nicole....these were the Energy bars from the diet and fitness section....Like in with the powders for protien drinks and stuff.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yikes. That kind of parenting is what brings shows like Nanny 911 etc....
I'm the first to admit that when my kids are already hyper and beyond normal behaviour... I feed them lots of sugar. Chocolate, sweets, we have a party....then we run around and they crash and burn and go to bed early.
But, never ever would I give them adult nutritional supplements...
Well...that's not entirely true - I have, on occasion, given them some Ensure when they were pretty sick and not eating.... It's formulated for adults... but, when you live in an old age home and the only open pharmacy is IN the residence, and well... what old person drinks Pediasure?
Kaitlin'smom replied: NO way.......Not me, she had enough energy. I can hardly keep up now.
lisar replied: My kids have enough energy without those things. Theres no way I would give them one.
Boo&BugsMom replied: We were shopping the other day and Tanner saw some of those energy bars on the shelf and asked if he could have one. Heck no, the last thing you need is an energy bar my dear!!!
Nina J replied: I am the same. I've let Emily have a sip of an energy drink or something, I don't sit her down with a whole can though.
I wouldn't give my kids a whole can of an energy drink or a energy bar, just a tiny little bit.
stella6979 replied: I see NO reason for kids to have that stuff so my kids will definately not be getting any.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I understand. thanks to all for the clarifications. In that case, no I would not specifically give our girls those things... heck I would not eat the ones that taste like vitamins myself! As for "energy" bars or drinks that are mostly the same thing that you find in any other candy bar with a few extra ingredients I find nothing wrong with. Snickers Marathon bars, those are okay in my opinion for our girls, that is if I am having one myself. Sips of some energy drinks are okay in moderation too every now and then.
