Emily's Letter to Santa - A Class Assignment

Kirstenmumof3 wrote: Dear Santa,
my name is Emily Tilbury. Thank You for last years presents, they were great. I've been really good all year, helping around the house and not arguing with my brother as much. I'm not really sure what I want that's an object, but I do know what I want that is here, living and to be healthy.

The only wish I want this year is for my brother to get better. His name is Spencer and he doesn't deserve this, he's a good kid on the inside. Spencer has Myelodysplastic Syndrome and I wish he didn't. Myelodysplastic Syndrome is a disease that affects blood counts and the only way to cure it, is to have a Bone Marrow Transplant. last year my family had blood tests done to see if any of us were a match. My sister was. Spencer has already had one transplant, but if failed and he has to have another one. You've answered my wishes before, I wanted a baby sister and I got one.

My sister was the best Christmas present I ever got. There is something else you should know, we found out Spencer was sick last year, the day after Christmas.

Sincerely,
Emily Tilbury

P.S. My Sister, brother and I are going to leave chocolate out for you.

sparkys2boys replied: ok, now I have tears. What a sweet thing for a child to write, She sure loves her brother. I wish I had words to make you feel better, but I don't. I can only say that prayers are with you from my family and I pray that a miracle will happen again for your family. hug.gif
