Eliana's Surgery Monday

sunrosejenn wrote: We have to be at the hospital at 6amCST. She is the first surgeryat 8amCST. Once the surgery starts it'll be about 3 hours until we are able to go home. Probably won't get home until 12pmCST or so. I won't be posting from Fri 1030amCST until Tuesday 630amCST.

They will be giving her some calming medication it started with a V but I can't remember the name now. Then they will give her happy gas. Maybe they can give some to Mommy too. And the IV won't go in until they are about to start the surgery.

I'm sooooo not ready for this girls. I would feel better if this wasn't Eye surgery. Eyes are such a vital part to us as a whole. But hopefully when she is through with this she will enjoy books and TV although I wouldn't be hurt if she still didn't like to watch TV.

coasterqueen replied: Jeanette, I must have missed a post about it. Why is she having eye surgery?

hug.gif and p&pt's coming your way.

amymom replied: Lots of prayers for her and calming prayers for Mom.

sunrosejenn replied: Thanks! She is having eye surgery to correct her left crossing eye. And recent her right eye started doing it as well. In order to correct the crossing they work on shortening/adjusting both eye muscles. it's hard to explain in writing.

coasterqueen replied: Ah I see. Well I hope it goes very smoothly and painless-ly. hug.gif hug.gif

lisar replied: Jeanette,
I know what mediciane you are talking about. And once they give that stuff to her. It will REALLY calm her down. She wont have a care in the world. Lexi has had it with all of surgery's. If it wasnt for that stuff I wouldnt know what I would do. With her having it and not caring when they took her from me it made me a lil easier cause she wasnt crying or screaming when they took her. I hope everything goes well.

sunrosejenn replied: Thanks! hug.gif

CantWait replied: Hope the surgery goes well and she recovers quick. hug.gif hug.gif

What they are giving her is probably Versed smile.gif It's an amazing drug for little people smile.gif Works so much better if they get it through thier nose though - so you might want to ask if you have that option.

Andrea is comical when she is given Versed - she hallucinates emlaugh.gif She thought Woody was in her hospital room and then at one point - I was holding her - she bent in half put her head as close to the floor as she could and just started rolling. Even the doctor couldn't bring herself to stop laughing in order to leave the room.

Anyway - I hope she does well smile.gif hug.gif
