Eeeek! - Wish me luck
luvmykids wrote: Going on my first date since the divorce tonight I am SO flippin nervous! It's totally time, and I'm really excited but I forgot how ridiculous all these dating jitters are.
luvbug00 replied: Good Luck! So is this a blind date? you have to tell us how it goes! It's just a date, have lots of fun and shine your beautiful smile!
luvmykids replied: Sort of...he saw a picture on facebook and asked my friend about me, she gave him my number (which I almost strangled her for until I saw a picture of him ). We've talked on the phone a little bit, he's divorced with kids and seems very nice and kind of old fashioned (like asking what time he can call the next day or if I mind if he plans the date).
It'll be fun, if nothing else I'll have another new friend
mummy2girls replied: awwwww. I met marcus through a dayhome parent...LOL
Good luck!
Our Lil' Family replied: Awww, Mon he seems so sweet! I'm so happy for you! Just go into it with no expectations....a girl's gotta eat right?! I want a text tonight, just a simple few words.... "awesome, we sealed the deal {insert spin cycle emoticon here}"..... "he's a dork no chance".... "eh....I have to eat tomorrow night too, why not"
you know, just something! LOL
boyohboyohboy replied: Perfectly said! Have a great time!
coasterqueen replied: I agree! Have fun!!!
A&A'smommy replied: I hope you have a FABULOUS time!!!
MommyToAshley replied: How fun!!!! Sounds like he is a real gentleman! I love guys with old-fashioned manners. Have a great time!
You know we'll want updates tomorrow. (or sooner)
My3LilMonkeys replied: Have a great time!!
mckayleesmom replied: are you back yet? Fill us in A.S.A.P
MommyToAshley replied: Yes...let's hear the details please.
coasterqueen replied: Oh come on!!! You can't make us wait. I know you posted on Facebook, so let's have details.
luvbug00 replied: Yea man! no news is good news??/
CantWait replied: I totally missed this. How did everything go?
luvmykids replied: Naomi, all of the above Sorry to keep y'all hangin, everytime I tried to come post something at work would stop me.
Anywho, it was good. He IS very, very nice and gentlemanly and we laughed a lot and had easy conversation. We have a lot in common and he's pretty easy on the eyes.
After dinner it went a little downhill. Not enough that I wouldn't give him another shot (which he asked for when he apologized today) but enough that it wasn't a GREAT date...we decided to go to a different restaurant after dinner with a bar to watch the NBA finals and he had a beer or two too many. Some of his friends were there and seemed embarrassed for him and said he never drinks like that and kept telling me how this isn't like him, he must be nervous, please give him another chance, please don't think he's a drunk It was bad enough though that I had to have his friends give me a ride back to my car and had them drive him home.
It was nice to be treated so well, I think he's used to high maintenance women which I'm not (but I'm willing to try to be LOL) and we did have a lot of fun until his last beer. I've had one to many a few times in my life so I don't really hold it against him, I just wish it hadn't been on our first date. BUT he did apologize first thing this morning, and asked very sweetly for a chance to make a better second impression than he did the first so we're supposed to go out again next week.
luvmykids replied: OH WAIT! Not all of the above!!!!! No deals were sealed!!!!
Our Lil' Family replied: I say give the poor guy a 2nd chance. I bet he has no more than 1 drink! haha And you never know....maybe he's just the person that introduces you to his friend, aka Mr. Right!?
luvmykids replied: Very true!
And really, I'm just enjoying being a little more social again...figure theres no harm in just having fun right now. A few dates or 50 doesn't mean it has to be anything serious, right?!
MommyToAshley replied: I agree, give him a second chance but be cautious, as I am sure you will.
I am glad you are having fun getting back out in the social scene.
coasterqueen replied:
Nina J replied: I agree, give him a second chance! He sounds really nice, I'm glad you had a good time.
And either way, he sounds like he knows how to have a fun time so whether more comes of it or you remain friends, you'll have fun
Evie replied: Yea, give him a 2nd chance! (so we get more juicy stories!) j/k!!
CantWait replied: This as well.
So glad you're gettin back on the horse.
youngmomofone replied: Yay for first date!!
Hoping that you're next one will go better
