Eczema
Nina J wrote: I'm having some sort of flare up with my eczema. I get it on my scalp and my elbows, but it's gotton bad this past week. I have it on my ears too, on the part where your ear joins on to your head near your earlobe. But it's painful there because it cracks, so it splits the skin and feels like my ear is coming off
I have cream that I get from my doctor, and this lotion for my scalp. But you have to apply it everyday, even when the eczema is gone or else it just comes back straight away.
Is there anything that helps it stay away, besides creams?
Jamison'smama replied: Do you have a humidifier in your house? I don't have eczema but my kids do and Jack had that same split by his ear for weeks--I finally put some lotramin on it wondering if maybe it got a little but of yeast and it cleared up overnight. I have to load the kids with lotion right out of the bath, limit the length of time they are in there and use only soap-free cleanser. I think during the winter it is all about staying as moist as possible.
CantWait replied: I heard Primerose oil works well, which reminds me...Robbie's face is looking horrible lately and nothing is helping it, I should try the PRO.
Jamison'smama replied: Oh my goodness, I forgot about Primrose oil. I used it last year--I would hide a drop or 2 in Jack's juice and within a few days, I could really see a difference. Thanks for the reminder, I will pull out the bottle now.
MoonMama replied: I'm not sure what else you can use, but wanted to send some hugs. Brae gets it on his right ankle and his doctor gave us hydrocortisone cream for it. I can apply it for us to 14 days at a time, but it usually clears up before the 14 days. Then I don't have to use it on him until it comes back. He probably gets it once every other month or so. I am not sure if it will be worse now that we are going into winter though. I would definitely try the humidifier and see if it helps. I run humidifiers year round in my house but we also live in Colorado and its really dry here. I am no help sorry to just I hope you can find something that works and feel better very soon.
MoonMama replied: Wow I never knew that! That sounds like a great idea. And its totally safe to add to his juice?
Jamison'smama replied: Yes but you only need a couple of drops.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I use it when Logan has a flare and it truly helps clear eczema up. I buy the capsules and pierce them and squeeze them into a sippy cup.
MoonMama replied: I'm so going to try this next time! Thanks ladies.

DH gets eczema pretty badly, and now has psoriasis... we still haven't found anything that works.
mom4wellness replied: I have struggled w/ excema my whole life, and I've recently switched products completely. I started using all natural Melaleuca products, and I have noticed a complete difference! I had excema on my hands and my scalp. The scalp was the worst! It was like cradle cap for an adult, so I started using Melaleuca products. If you want some info on them, let me know! I also work for them!
Nothing else worked for me except the steroid cream that you get from the dr. and it didn't prevent it-it just treated it.
Hope this helps.
I also use it all on my 4 mo. old son who has it like I do.
