Easter Egg Hunting Up North?

BAC'sMom wrote: For those of you that live where it snows, where do you hide the eggs? Do you hide them in the house or do you hide them outside?

Calimama replied: That's a good question. huh.gif

BAC'sMom replied: Thank you biggrin.gif

Anthony275 replied: inside

mckayleesmom replied: hmmm...We only lived in Minnesota for Mckaylee's first easter and we didn't do an Easter egg hunt......The next year we lived at Ft Knox and it was warm and it was held outside.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Well last year it was pretty chilly and we did it outside... the kids all had jackets and hats and mittens on. It was pretty freezing for us parents - we had to be outside to hide the eggs, and then to help the kids find them too. tongue.gif This year we're planning on doing it outside again, but if the snow isn't gone we might end up doing it inside. (we're having our Easter next weekend this year so that everyone could be there. wink.gif) Although as I said to my mom, having it outside in the snow would make the eggs nice and easy to find! laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: We've always done it inside here in FL. With the rain and the heat, our candy would be gross if we did it outside. Sometimes, we have special afternoon hunts outside but the bunny visits our house

now off to bed bunnies. rolling_smile.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Hmm...well...this is our first year living in a house with our own yard...and we actually have some grass exposed so its perfect for a little easter egg hunt outside...but right now at 7am its 20degrees out...so my plan is to give alex a bath in a little while to distract him while dh goes out and puts eggs around the front yard...and tell alex we found out why he didnt get candy in his basket because the easter bunny left it outside!! It will be done outside this year cuz Im dead set on it!
And if I hid them inside my crazy cats would think they were toys and roll them around the house!!

I remember when I was a teenager we had an easter egg hunt at my moms outside.

Momof3inMe replied: Ours was inside. I think 2 years ago we were able to do it outside and the kids loved it!

sparkys2boys replied: Inside, although a few years ago it was nice out and I did both.

redchief replied: Our city holds an Easter Egg Hunt every year outside at the recreation fields. Tourists come down to the shore for the darned thing, it's so popular. Yesterday it was about 40' when the horn was sounded to start the hunt... Brrrr.

jcc64 replied: We have massive amounts of tourists coming up from NYC for Christmas Eve in our town, where every year Santa makes his entrance in increasingly bizarre ways. One year, the NY Times ran an article about it, and ever since then, it's unbearable, b/c the center of town is quite tiny. I actually stopped going a few years ago, so, kwym Ed!
In answer to original question, we do ours' in the house. Far too many wild animals around here to leave food outside for any length of time.

My3LilMonkeys replied: We do mostly outside - we hunt easter eggs in coats & mittens around here. tongue.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Depends on the weather, really. Right now, there is WAYYYY too much snow to hide anything outside... hwoever around my house, the snow has melted... I mean like up against the foundation... so I suppose I could hide stuff there... but it's not worth it. If I was to hide stuff, I'd hide it inside.

In the past, my mom has put bigger items outside, if there wasn't much snow. Usually most of our snow is melted by now. unsure.gif wacko.gif

TrulyBlessed replied: We've done both inside and outside. When I do the easter egg hunt inside I do it as a scavenger hunt where the clues lead to the next egg and then finally the basket.

moped replied: Inside the house...........never known it any other way tongue.gif

We don't have snow but just a bit too cool still

coasterqueen replied: Ours is inside, but our big family hunt is always outside. So yesterday we were dusting off the snow from the goodies. rolleyes.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: sad.gif inside, way to cold this year. we have only done it once outside and it was still really chilly.

and we have one MIA I think the cats are playing with it laugh.gif or my sleepy head did not put it out, and have no clue where it woudl have gone. wacko.gif
