ER visit for ME

Scotty was off work today and we were getting ready to leave the house to buy a b-day gift for a party tonight. I got out of the shower and leaned down to get my hair stuff out from under the sink of the vanity (in the bathroom) and the mirror came crashing down. It was so loud. It landed first on the sink area and then on my head and my back. It hurt so bad. I didn't know what my back looked like. Scotty ran around the corner and said "Oh God...Get in the shower!!" I got in the shower and blood was pouring from my back. He tried to clean it up, but kept getting squirted. He bandaged me as much as he could and then cleaned up all the glass. The kids were FREAKING They were so scared. I was bawling b/c I just kept thinking about how bad it could have been, kwim? Scotty was pretty calm so I knew the cut wasn't that bad.

My neighbor came over to watch the kids...I got some x-rays to make sure there was no glass and they stitched me up, gave me a tetnus and sent me home. I have a HUGE blood clot under my wound. And the wound is real jagged. That mirror is heavy so I'm pretty sore from that, too. I look like I've been in a war zone....I've got cuts and blood ALL over me.

Like I said, It could have been worse. The kids could have been standing there. And thank God Scotty was here to help me out.

(I still haven't seen the wound on my back )

I have a picture, but it already has a bandage on it and it shows my hiney so I'll have to crop it

Here's some of the glass...you can see where the cabinet is open on the bottom...that's where I was bending over (naked)

Is it odd that Scotty was home tday? I mean usually he would be at work right............good thing he was there!

How incredibly scary that must have been! I'm so glad it wasn't anything worse, although this is definitely bad enough. How scary! I'm glad you're ok, take it easy today and this week, ok? Prayers coming your way for fast and non-painful healing.

I'm very glad that Scotty was home..I can't imagine having to deal with that and keep myself and the kids calm!

Do you have to get the stitches out, or do they dissolve.

I'm doing okay, but REALLY sore. We went to a birthday party tonight and I'm thinking maybe I should have stayed home. I have about 6 band aids on my body and scratches everywhere. The sweat did not feel good and sleeping tonight is going to be a chore.

We have no idea what happened to make the mirror fall. Just one of those freak accidents, I guess. I'm so grateful for my guardian angels b/c the what ifs just really haunt me. I try not to think about it.

I go back to the doctor in 3 days for a wound check and again in 7 days for them to remove the sutures.

I got such great care at the ER. It wasn't in a hospital. It's a separate facility that deals with urgent and emergent care. No one was there so I got lots of individual attention and they were SO nice. That really helps. I can't believe I didn't comment on that before. But I thought I would mention that when you have great medical care it makes everything so much easier to deal with.

Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers. I do know that God was watching out for me. He had to have been.
