ED! - HELP PLEASE!
MoonMama wrote: I thought you might know since your a fire fighter. I asked DH to keep an eye on Braedin while I made lunch. Long story short he got a hold of one of those silica gel packets (although I don't know how, I'm so careful ). Most of it went on my floor, but I know he bit open the packet because the packets was wet and there was some on his face. He ate very little if anything. How dangerous is it? Should I get him in ASAP? I feel like the worst parent in the world!
mckayleesmom replied: I know I'm not Ed, but I just wanted to give you a hug. Stay calm. Did you call poison control?
Calimama replied: I'd flush out his mouth with water and then call poison control.. but I don't know if that's the right thing.
and you are NOT the worst mother ever.
MoonMama replied: I did that and I did call poison control and they said it is non toxic and unless he ate a ton (more then one whole pack and even then it would just throw up probably ) he will be just fine. I just want someone who I trust more (Ed) to ease my mind.
ETA: I do have a call into his pedi, so hopefully she will call me back ASAP.
Calimama replied: Oh the link does show. It wasn't showing for me so I took it out.
A&A'smommy replied: yeah they are non toxic your not a bad mom your a wonderful mom and btw Alyssa has eaten one of those before I had just bought a new pair of shoes and I don't remember what happened but they ended up all over the floor.. I flipped out
MoonMama replied: Thanks so much Jessica! I feel loads better.
mckayleesmom replied: You are not a bad mom....I don't know if you were here or not when Mckaylee ate a whole box of chocolate ex-lax. My mom had visited when I had surgery and I had some on hand because I was told that my meds might cause constipation. My mom hung a bag of clothes on my banaster and forgot the box was in there. Mckaylee came and told me how much she loved chocolate and I realized what she did..
Believe it or not...she only pooped 2 times.
Crystalina replied: I'm sure he'll be fine but I found this and I think it's good for all of us to know (I didn't).
punkeemunkee'smom replied: He probably did not eat too many of them-they taste really horrible....don't ask how I know! I will just say they are BAD and it was recent enough for me to remember
A&A'smommy replied: ok I really have to ask????
punkeemunkee'smom replied: You would!
Ok there is a horrible child in our circle of friends-LOL! Ok no I mean HORRIBLE! Anywho I made a cake at Easter that looked like an Easter basket. She decided it would be funny to sprinkle a package (she got something in her Easter basket that had a package of those sylica balls in it) on the cake. I did not cut the cake and her Aunt who did thought they were some of the decoration anyway they shatter in your mouth and taste like something horribly burnt....Yeah I told you the kid was bad!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: here is my poor cake before the vandalism! It was sad!
Kaitlin'smom replied: thats a cake......woah your good
Crystalina replied: No doubt!!! Is the cake the grass part or the whole thing?
Oh you should charge!
A&A'smommy replied: OMG WHAT??? thats a cake you have a REAL talent there girl and yes of course I had to ask And I kinda want to laugh at the joke.. sorry lol BAD Jessica oh and EWWWW
punkeemunkee'smom replied: The grass is shreded fruit roll up. (they sell candy grass but ewww, it is not good ) It was actually super easy. And Jess you can laugh away...I do now when I think about it. Especially since the words that came out of my mouth were not appropriate for Easter Sunday.
Kaitlin'smom replied: so the cake is in the basket......the basket is not cake is it?
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh no no no...the basket is a basket-the cake is inside. I did do a cake once for a friend of mine's baby shower that was a baby basket with fondant baby items. It was neat-I will see if I can dig a picture up. basket weave cakes are fun if you do them with fondant or marzapan (same thing just different names)
A&A'smommy replied: I can imagine
Totally want to see the shower cake!!
redchief replied: I know the others have already said it. as well as poison control, and I'm sorry I wasn't on earlier. Basically those silica gel packs are sand. Unless he ate a whole lot of it... and I mean a WHOLE lot... it's OK.
