Dumb question - can you flush baby wipes?

DansMom wrote: OK, so Daniel complained about the TP after his first success with #2 on the potty. Not wanting to create any trauma around the event, I offered to use the nice wipes that we use during a diaper change, which he much preferred. I'm standing there afterward thinking, can these be flushed? They are not quite cloth, seeming more like paper that will disintegrate and biodegrade, but there's no information on the box about flushability. I can toss them too, and that's what I did this time. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Kaitlin'smom replied: you can get the Kandoo's for kids that are moist like wipes and are flushable thumb.gif its what we use

TANNER'S MOM replied: I always flushed..

I did this with my kids forever. I felt they got cleaner when they wiped by themselves..

Flush away.. I never had sewer just septic..and it worked for me.

A&A'smommy replied: I think you can let me see if I can find something on it... Alyssa will probably feel the same way! tongue.gif Anyway Have you seen those wipes for tots who started using the potty they are even easy for THEM (when they are ready) to get themselves they are called Kandoo and they have phoming soap for them too its pretty cute but I don't know how they are for sensitive skin.. Let me see if I can find something for you!

DansMom replied: I've never heard of Kandoo! Thanks you guys, I'll see if I can find those. I'm probably getting way too excited about this---it might be 2 months before he poops in the potty again rolleyes.gif

A&A'smommy replied: http://www.cce.cornell.edu/onondaga/homeasyst/septic2.htm this is what I found read down a little

amynicole21 replied: They aren't supposed to be flushed, but we use those kandoos and they work out great. You can find them at babies r us or target.

coasterqueen replied: We use Kandoo and are safe to flush down septics from what we found out. I hate using them because Kylie says they burn. DH will only use them on her, which means most times I'm doing the wiping. rolleyes.gif

3xsthefun replied: No, you can't flush baby wipes because they will mess up your septic.

booey2 replied: I have found a generic brand of the Kandoo wipes, usually less money and the boys think they are great. OT-I also recently discovered some wipes for us ladies that are flushable to be used usually once a month. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied: There are other flushable wipes out there like Kandoos. I can't remember the name of them but they are by one of the toilet paper manufacturers. I used them before Kandoos came out but Dh liked the Kandoos because they come in a pop up box. rolleyes.gif

MissyKay2005 replied: I agree that you should not flush them. But the kandoos sound like they might work for ya. We use whipes in our bathroom for us becasue it is cleaner I think but we through them in the trash can.

Cottonelle - I think unsure.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I just read this in a book I got at the library yesterday...How about taking a roll of toilet paper and soaking it with a little water and baby oil? Keep in a ziplock bag or something so it doesn't dry out. Homemade wipes! I imagine this is safe to flush! Just an idea...

boobies4virtue replied: Walmart carries all kinds of flushable wipes. the kids' ones will fit in a kandoo container. they're a lot cheaper to buy them in the generic brand. (only a buck or two as compared to 5)

Jamison'smama replied: Huggies makes a toddler wipe too--one with Mickey Mousse or princesses on the box. We use those and Kandoos---the boxes are very easy for the kids to open---and since I KNOW Jamison can't judge how much toilet paper to use, these are the better option for us. They are sooo much better for poop also.

msoulz replied: OH, the Cottonelle flushable ones are the best. My six year old is very bummed when he has to go somewhere and there are no wipes. I'm guessing they are less expensive than the ones made for toddlers, too. But I don't know!
