Duck or Duct - tape...
jenn3 wrote: That silver tape that you can use to for just about anything...what do you call it?
amynicole21 replied: duct - lol! It cracks me up when people call it "duck"
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Duct...but there is now a Duck brand tape
jenn3 replied: Then id crack you up I call it duck i dont know why
A&A'smommy replied: duck lol its only because I was raised in an area that it is used to fix literally EVERYTHING I hate that stuff!!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Duct. I don't so much mind when people say "duck" But I hate when people add an "R" to wash. WARSH! It drives me nuts and people do it at work just because they know it.
MomToMany replied: Oh, me too! I hate it when people say "idear" for idea. Drives me nuts!
Oh, and DH says "paper toweling" instead of just paper towels. THAT annoys me too!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: LOL that's so weird I've never heard that one before!
5littleladies replied: Hmm....I think I say duck, but not conciously-I think of it as duct. It seems to take alot more effort to get the "t" on the end there. DucT Tape. It's a mouthful.
Wow-now I sound lazy. lol!
kit_kats_mom replied: Well, I call it duct tape since that's what it is. It's original purpose was to seal leaks in air ducts I believe.
gr33n3y3z replied: its duct and It seals just about everything lol
ions_momma replied: I call it duct tape, but my sister calls it duck tape.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I know it is duct tape but I think I say ductape-kinda one word all smooshed together It might be a southern thing or maybe I am just lazy too!
amymom replied: Yes it is duct tape for sealing ducts. But a company came along (along time ago) and called their duct tape, DuckTape ( see website) and thus people get confused. Kind of like Kleenex being used as generic for tissue.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yeah - Drives me nuts when people can't pronouce a word properly.... not because of an accent, but because of added or substracted letters.
My MIL says Scottowel for Paper towel - just beacuse that's the brandname.
I hate it. I always act confused... lol <oh, you mean a PAPER towel!!>
DH says Kleenex for anything to wipe the kids nose with.... when he ways kleenex, I look for the tissues.... but he'll mean the napkin or something
It's like the people who say <pass the heinz> when they mean ketchup...
My2Beauties replied: It's Duct - but down here we smoosh the whole word together so it sounds like duck tape I hate the "idear" and "warsh" thing too Drives me bananas!
JAYMESMOM replied: I make it one word Ductape. But if I asked what? I will say DUCT TAPE. LOL.
We also say kleenex for a facial tissue.
My friend refers to all diapers as pampers.
I hate liberry vs. library.
