Dry, Cracked Hands - Help!!!
mom2haley wrote: My hands are sooo dry and cracked, they hurt. I've tried Gold Bond, but it just doesn't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: When my hands used to get cracked and bleed I used Neutrogena Hand Cream and it helped a lot. Another thing you could try is Aquaphor - I've heard that works great too.
mom21kid2dogs replied: I used to have a hige problem with dry, cracking skin in the winter. I've discovered Burt's Bees Banana Hand Creme. No problem since!!
PrairieMom replied: Here we use Bag balm. We get it at walmart. It is used for cows udders when they get dry and cracked, but it also works wonders on hands.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I just started using Eucerin healing lotion for hands. It is incredible!!! I also use their body healing lotion. I cannot give this product enough praise! I have the worst dry skin (my hands were cracked, too) and I have excema. It's gone and my hands are softer than they've been in years. I've tried bag balm and aquaphor ...those were too greasy IMO. I started out using the Equate brand of Eucerin (bought at Wal Mart in a round jar type container) and I really liked it, but it is more of a night time cream, kwim? It is really thick and I do still use it at night. This other cream (healing lotion..comes in a tube) and is not greasy at all, but works great! It is more expensive than most, but you don't need much and to me it is worth it if it works.
mommymonster replied: Some of the things our grandmothers actually said worked, well, really do work I also get dry dkin on my hands and feet, at night grabb the Vaseline and put a generous amount on your feet, cover with a pair of cotton socks, and do the same with your hands, cover with cotton gloves. (personally I can't stand goves on my hands, but rubbing the vaseline in like lotion over night really makes a difference in the morning!)
mom2tripp replied: SAME HERE I LOVE THAT STUFF
jacobsmama replied: I know this sounds crazy but put bagbalm on your hands and wear socks to bed on your hands and by morning they will be great! And do this like once a week, it helps alot.
TeagansMom609 replied: I am a chronic hand washer and in the winter it takes its toll on my hands and they get horribly chapped too. I use Aveeno hand lotion. When I try to use anything else my hands burn and get red speckles on them.
mom2haley replied: That's what Gold Bond does to me. Not to mention it stinks to high heaven.
sunrosejenn replied: I use Arbonne hand cream. It works great.
CosmetologyMommy replied: My hands get like that too because I am always shampooing hair and scrubbing to get hair dye off my hand so I use goldbond medicated cream and it seems to work.
fashionmumofboys replied: I use Glycerin Silicon and it works wonders.
mom2haley replied: Thanks ladies.....
I went and bought Aveeno, so we'll see if it helps.
jem0622 replied: I like Mary Kay's Satin Hands set. Use it 1-2 times per day. Also, aquaphor is good, or the Neutrogena Hand Cream. You may want to apply one of those at night and wear the cotton gloves.
