grapfruit replied: So are they just banned in school are are they banning them in the town?!? That's CRAZY! But I hate the droopy pants.
My BIL *gag* wears his pants *gag* like this all the time. He's a bigger *gag* guy (about 6'4" 300lbs) *gag* and likes to also *gag**gag**gag* go around w/o a shirt on *gag* and he's hairy *gag*
A&A'smommy replied: HAHA Thats AWESOME!!!!!!!! now I wish they would do that here!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Dallas banned them a few months ago.
lisar replied: I think its just in the schools but hey thats a start right.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I hate those pants! Glad someone is finally taking a look at the fashion trends of teens these days. Maybe they could take a look at the fashion trends of 4-6 year olds while they're at it. My god, I can't find normal pants for Claudia at all!
Calimama replied: I don't like them, but it kinda worries me how much stuff the government is beginning to say we CAN'T do.. idk.
grapfruit replied: Instead of getting on my soap box I'll say ITA
MommyToAshley replied: I didn't read the article, it came up as "page not found".
But, I too hate those pants. If the pants were banned as part of a school dress code (or abusiness dress code), then I see nothing wrong with that. It's no different than saying no mini skirts and spaghetti straps for girls in school. However, if the city or government banned them, then I think I would have a problem. As much as I hate those pants, I don't think our government should be able to dictate what we wear.
momofone replied: I just don't know how they don't fall down.
lisar replied: Its just in the schools here that they banned it
MommyToAshley replied: Then, I think it is a great idea!!
Luckily Ashley's school wears uniforms so we don't have to deal with that.
jcc64 replied: It's an act of rebellion- and every generation has one. The dirty long hair of the 60's and 70's, the piercings and safety pins/mohawks and fishnets of the 90's, now the baggy pants. I think it looks ridiculous, and more than that, I can't for the life of me figure out how they get from point a to point b w/o losing them at some point. But, making rules about it is only fueling the fire. If they want to walk around like that, more power to 'em.
Calimama replied: Oh that changes my response then.
MommyToAshley replied: Just curious, are you against school dress code policies... for example, certain skirt lengths in school?
stella6979 replied: I agree. I mean, if it's not one thing, it's another. I HATE those dang pants and want to pull them down every time I see someone wearing them, but I think the Government has more important things they could be worrying about. I am glad they were banned in the schools though.
HuskerMom replied: I totally agree.
redchief replied: I don't know how girls can see boys as attractive with the crotches of their pants at their knees. Lisa always says she liked my eyes first, my butt second. If I'd have worn sunglasses and Dickies to "there," there's a good chance she never would have thrown cookie dough at me.
I don't know about state legislation. That's a little nanny for me. I see no reason that school boards couldn't take action in areas where the practice is disruptive though. All-encompassing rules set up two problems. One is enforcement. Often people refulse to enforce a rule that someone jammed down their throat. The other is one of need. How much money is this legislation costing the taxpayers of Florida? And don't they have more important things to do in Tallahassee? As far as Texas goes, well who could be surprised? They are surpassed only by California, NJ and NY in nanny legislation. I wonder why NJ is lagging so far behind on this crucial issue.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Ugh, I hate those pants too. Good for them. There's no law against them here though.
grandma replied: Personally I don't care for them, but as long as they don't fall down, I see no problem with them. Back in my day, mini skirts were not allowed at school functions, but we wore uniforms anyhow. And our hair wasn't dirty!
My2Beauties replied: I agree with you 100% Dee Dee
Cece00 replied: They did that here, in a smaller town, awhile back. But you cant wear them in PUBLIC, its not just in a school.
