Drama at my house today
5littleladies wrote: Dh told the girls yesterday that they couldn't do anything today until their rooms are cleaned up (they are super messy) and Megan is in her room hollering at the top of her lungs that she doesn't want to clean anymore. You should hear her-she sounds like her pet died or something. She is quite the drama queen. I love how Dh makes the ultimatums but doesn't have to be here to enforce them or to experience the aftermath. I'm going to go crazy before this is over.
A&A'smommy replied: OH MY that would be a day full of fun, i would just inform dh that he needs to stay home one day by himself while they go crazy (((HUGS)))
Boys r us replied: Haaa...oh yes, I know how that is all too well!!! Tanner hates cleaning his room SO MUCH that Rick will tell him, okay, if your room is clean by this saturday, I'll buy you a new xbox game..you know..positive reinforcement instead of saying, if it's not clean by saturday, you'll be grounded. Aren't kids supposed to buy into this?!??!? Anyhow, he STILL won't clean it!
Good Luck!!!!
MomToMany replied: Oh, I just went t hrough this too! DH came home from work early (UGH ). He was going to go set some traps, and asked Ethan & Hannah if they wanted to go with. Well, he told them they needed to eat lunch first. Ethan ate perfectly, but Hannah wouldn't eat anything, so she got put in her room. She was screaming "Daddy!! Daddy!! Wait for me!!!", but she didn't get to go. I just love it when he ups & leaves me with screaming kids, not to mention coming home early with no warning!!!!! Drives me nuts!!!!! I got her calmed down and told her maybe next time.
It also makes me mad that he uses his vacation time for stupid stuff like this. He'll come home early because he's bored and there's nothing to do at work, yet everyone else there is working overtime. Then he won't have any time for an emergency or something!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I'm sorry ~ I can imagine what she sounds like! You should tell Jason the next time he makes an ultimatum like that it had better be on a weekend!
kimberley replied: ugh! i know what that is like. DH always gives out punishments like that and then goes to work all week so *I* am the one who has to deal with it. sometimes he doesn't even tell me they are grounded from gameboy or whatever and gets mad that i let them play once in a while. hey, i need a break from them every so often too!!
hope the girls settle down and get there stuff done.
DansMom replied: My mom used to say "Whatever is still on the floor at X oclock is going in the trash", and she kept her word. I can remember being that furious and upset LOL! Good luck
LovingmyBoriqua replied: I FEEL FOR YOU.. I KNOW THE SCREAMING TANTRUMS ARE LIKE MY 2 1/2 YR OLD DOES THIS EVERYDAY. ITS SO ANNOYING BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS DEPLOYED SO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIM SCREAMING. MY 11 MTHS OLD JUST LOOKS AT EJ LIKE HES CRAZY.. I HAVE ENOUGH DRAMA FROM MY 2 1.2 YR OLD ALREADY...
5littleladies replied: I'm going to do this! lol! That might be the only thing that would get through to my kids.
My2Beauties replied: I like Dan's mom's idea too! good luck with those screaming girls, I know how I was when it came to cleaning!
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
This is what I do. It really works. I set a timer for Maddie since she is just now learning time. And, I follow thru with it, too. I have 3 trash bags full of toys in the garage that are going to good will. She has too many toys anyway.
MommyToAshley replied: I am sorry you had to deal with that, I agree that the next time he gives such an ultimatum that it should be on the weekend when you are headed out!
I really like Tracy's idea of the trash... hmmm. Good idea.
coasterqueen replied: Yikes, glad my DH hasn't done that too me yet! . I agree with the making sure he does it on a weekend when he will be there!
Alice replied: That doesn't happen often, but when it does it drives me crazy!!
Josie83 replied: How did the tidying up go? I'm sorry I know it won't have been funny for you but your post did make me giggle a bit - I can just imagine her screaming like her world's coming to an end! xx
