Dollhouses - any recommendations?

My3LilMonkeys wrote: The girls want a dollhouse as their big present this year but I can't seem to find one I really like - does anyone have a great one they can recommend? I don't want anything outrageously expensive - $200 or less.

stella6979 replied: KidKraft makes really nice ones. I was at Costco the other day and saw this one that was just amazing. It was pretty big, but it was made of nice thick wood and had lots of rooms and the coolest furniture. You'd definitely have to stand up to play with it though cause it's that big. That one was $260.00 or so but they sell smaller ones that are just as nice. smile.gif

Brias3 replied: Yep, I agree- they look like quality houses. I've even seen some of the KidKraft ones on Amazon for between $75-$125.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Thanks! It looks like all of those are for Barbie sized dolls though, and they really want something for little dolls.

Something like this?

BAC'sMom replied: KidKraft and Loving Family are also very nice

lovemy2 replied: Olivia has the Loving Family and it is AWESOME - she has had it since she was 2 and is now 5 1/2 and still plays with it almost daily - it is great too cause we buy her new sets of furniture for different occasions - it is sturdy and makes sounds, etc..... thumb.gif

I like these. I searched around the site and there are some cute ones on there.

momofone replied: Maybe a nearby craft store would have nice ones.

PrairieMom replied: I am thinking about he loving family one for Al for her birthday this summer. Actually, it would probably be more for me, and Ben would lOVE it. laugh.gif

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: Megan has the loving family place house that she loved (kinda outgrown it now) but Alyx has taken it over. Megan also has the Sweet Street houses. They are smaller and some have some smaller pieces (Alyx isn't allowed to play with them), but there are all kinds of houses and stores. They usually have a card to send away for a playmat (usually around $5 I think) that you can set all the places up on. What is real nice is they have handles so you can take them with you. Some examples are: A Townhouse, a Cottage, a Hospital, pet store/beauty store, a Carnival, Ice Cream Truck, Postoffice and the list goes on and one. What is real nice is if you have several girls playing each one can have their own "home/store" and they can have their people visit the others. Megan loves hers. She has I think 10 of them now. Each one comes with its own people and furniture.

My2Beauties replied: Hanna has the Loving Family House and loves it, it costs less than $60, the furniture is between $6.99 and $9.99 per room and there are about 7 or 8 rooms I believe, it costs me less than $200 for the house and to furnish it, Hanna loves it.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Thanks guys! They have the loving family dollhouse at Toys R Us - I think I'll have to go check that one out!

jcc64 replied: My sitter's kids have the Loving Family one, and they have loved it continuously for 2 yrs now. The furniture's pretty great, and in the realm of dollhouse stuff, not all that expensive. I'd go for that one.
