Does your toddler love vitamins??
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: Wil LOVES his vitamins! I bought a natural brand vitamin C from the health food store...They are super hard chewables, but he can handle them. They are orange flavored and I swear, I have to literally sneak a prenatal for myself or else he will hear the shaking of the bottle and come running for his vitamin!! I should plan to give him his at the exact time I take mine, but I don't. I like to only give him his every other day, so I have to be sneaky about mine...He's so funny! Who would have thought a kid would like vitamins??
luvbug00 replied: Mya has taken vidaworms ( gummy worm vida.) since she was 2 they are the best!!!
ediep replied: Jason takes the gunny bear vitamins too and he likes them
luvmykids replied: Mine love them too, every day we have the same conversation about only one per day and they still want another one.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh yeah! Both kids LOVE their vitamins.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: That was our problem today! I already gave one to Wil in the morning, but when he heard me open my prenatals this afternoon, he freaked out and started crying for one of his!!! I'm glad he likes them, but I have to be careful.
CantWait replied: Anthony loves his also. Robbie is much older and still likes to take em. I can't stand taking my vitamin C because they're so gross.
MyLuvBugs replied: DH and I were just talking about this today. I'm starting to think Lorelei needs some Vitamins in her diet. When did you all start? They have so many different kinds of kids vitamins out there.
zdk753 replied: All of mine love taking their vitamins. For some reason one day my mom bought some for them & kept them at her house. From then when we go over there that is the first thing they ask for. I also have to keep telling them they can only have one. Otherwise they would eat the whole bottle.
Nina J replied: Emily loves hers too, after breakfast she always asks for her "viramen"
3_call_me_mama replied: Both min e love them too. We need to find those all natural ones you're talking about Rae, cause all teh others I have found are full of dyes. And we are trying to totally cut food dye from the kids diets (as we are seeing MUCH improved Behavior on cameron's part from this little experiment;) ) All i found were teh flinstone type and they are all dyed. SO guess I'll be checking teh HFS to get the natural ones.. any certain brand I should get? They like the orange flavor and the shaped ones.. We don't want to go with the Vitagummies cause of teh dye AND the fact that they look like candy adn I don't ever want the confusion if they were to open teh bottle and assume that they were gummy bears or worms or whatever and have a chowfest!!
3xsthefun replied: Both of mine love their vitamins also.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I agree with the confusion between vitamins and gummies!! Alex loves the gummy fruit snacks so he would def. get confused and think its snack time!!
I havent given him vitamins before...he just went to his 2 year check up and his ped. never said anything about vitamins...
coasterqueen replied: Megan doesn't take vitamins and won't til she weans, but Kylie takes them now. She barters with me to get one. Every morning when I brush her hair I give her her vitamin. She won't let me brush her hair til she gets the vitamin. I'll say "time to brush your hair Kylie" and she replies "vitamin first, brush hair after". So yes, she LOVES hers too.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Yep Kait loves hers as well. She would also eat more than one a day if given the option.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Both mine love them too...It is also how Matt started learning his colors. We would make him tell us the color of his vitamin before we would give it to him.
My2Beauties replied: Oh man Hanna has those gummy vitamins, the princess kind I buy and sometimes the Sesame street kind, and she only gets two a day. I have to bargain with her all the time because she is constantly asking for a gummy I'm like well you already had them both, do you want some fruit? Yeah right mom
3_call_me_mama replied: I was just reading the back of our jar of vitamins. and was noticing that 1/2 of one of those vitamins is what a kid aged 2-3 is supposed ot get. a kid over age 4 and an adult gets a whole one. And i was wondering why Dennis was cuttin them in half every morning ! (He does vitamin duty so I;ve never paid too close of attention to teh jar) Oh adn whom ever was asking about when to start. we started around 18 months for Cameron and kathleen every now and then will get one (or a half i guess it would be) but we won't give them regularly to her until she's done nursing and we find the ones without dyes. Which i'm off to look for tonight
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Carrie- The brand I bought is Nature's Plus Children's Chewable Vit C with natural orange juice flavor. They say Animal Parade on the bottle because they are animal shaped. They also won the 2005 Best Taste Award, which is no biggie, but thought I would add the info. They are vegetarian and hypo-allergenic. Also FREE from artificial colors and preservatives, plus free from yeast, wheat, corn, soy and milk.
I'll tell you though, they are HARD! But as long as I watch Wil closely, he does fine with them. It probably cleans a bit of tartar off his teeth anyway...like a milk bone! I'm only kidding...
I started giving them to Wil at about 16 months. I gave him Polyvisol drops before that.
3_call_me_mama replied: Thanks Rae. That's what I was lookign for. Especially without the artificial colors.
Brias3 replied: YES! Mason used to have the chewable animal ones which he liked alot, now I give him the gummy Pooh Bear version which he LOVES. As per the recommended dose, he gets two gummies a day and I swear, he's practically waiting by the cabinet for me in the morning to have his gummy bears
