Does your child take naps?

jacobsmama wrote: Jacob takes a nap for about 2-3 hours and lately he has been only napping for about an hour. I'm dreading the day when he doesn't nap see this is when I get everything done! wacko.gif ahhhh!

How long do your kids nap or do they still nap?

If not what age did they stop? tongue.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: They are napping now. smile.gif If they miss their naps, then they will pass out later, so I try to schedule my day around their naps. Most of the time they nap for around 2-3 hours. Some days it is less, esp if they are not sleeping together (like now), my youngest will wake up in less than an hour or so, if Christian is not in bed with her.

I am hoping they still take them until they are in the first grade though. ((fingers are crossed)) Because I think they still take them in kindergarten. I thought they stopped around 3yrs of age, but Christian is still good about taking them, and she is 3yrs.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Katy typically doesn't nap (or not long) but she does stay quiet in her room for 2-3 hours. I find if she doesn't fall asleep sometime during her "quiet time" she will fall asleep in the car if we go out later in the day. MAtt still sleeps the whole time 2-3 hours and I don't think he has any intention of stopping in the near future.

mckayleesmom replied: Russell does.....but Mckaylee only does once in a blue moon.....a dark blue moon at that......She usually has quiet time in her room or lays on the floor and watches noggin with her sleeping bag.

luvmykids replied: Macie absolutely falls apart if she doesn't get her nap, usually 2 hours on the nose.

The twins are about ready to drop theirs, they don't always fall asleep during "rest time" and when they do they practically stay up all night. BUT if they don't snooze, they're in terrible moods the rest of the day. We're in between stages I guess.

3xsthefun replied: Maegan doesn't take naps very much anymore. If she does she will take on for 1-2 hours.

Kaitlynn stoped taking a nap when was little over 4 years old.

CAMSMOM1 replied: He is taking a nap right now snooze.gif Thank God! If he is here at home, in his own bed, he will take a 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon! I know, I'm lucky! happy.gif And his bedtime at night is 8:30. And he'll sleep through the night, and wake up at 8:00am. Oh yeah, I'm lucky! tongue.gif wink.gif And he is 22 months old. But if he's at Grandma's during the week, he'll only sleep for 1.5 hours, because he wants to get up and play with his cousins. I don't mind, as long as he keeps up these 4 hour naps for me! happy.gif

I don't know what life will be like when he doesn't nap! wacko.gif I won't get stuff done around her, or be able to come on the computer! blink.gif I sure hope he takes a nap until he's in Kindergarten, wishful thinking. rolleyes.gif

blue72 replied: Luke, my 4 year old, is starting to phase out the nap. When he falls asleep, he will sleep between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. He will stay quiet for about an hour if he doesn't fall asleep. Bed at 8:00 up at 6:00

Jacob, my 16 month old, naps typically from 10:00 - 12:00. Bed at 8:00. He doesn't sleep through the night yet. I usually have to sit with him once during the night. He wakes up between 5:30 and 6:00

Kyle, 7, no nap of course. In bed at 8:00 up at 7:00 (earlier during the work week).

My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke occasionally naps on weekends, but not regularly. She gave it up around 1 or so. She sleeps a good 12-13 hours a night though.

Madison still naps twice a day for 1-2 hours at a time.

MamaJAM replied: DS#2 is 2.5 years old and still takes a nap every day -- anywhere from 1-2.5 hours (depends what time he lays down because there is a certain time we have to leave the house on weekdays).
DS#1 often takes a short nap in the van on the way to pick the girls up from school (20-30 mins, tops).

None of my girls take regular naps anymore.

NicoleMomOf4 replied: Evan and Devin take about 2 hour naps, although past few weeks Devin has woken up after hour and a half and was full of energy hope it dont mean he will stop naping soon. blink.gif Jenna takes a nap once in a blue moon or unless shes not feeling well.

ediep replied: nope, I stopped putting Jason in for his nap when he turned 3 because he wasn't tired at bedtime. he'd sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon but then he'd be up until 10:30pm.....thats to late for us, so if he doesn't take a nap, he goes to bed at 8

TeagansMom609 replied: Teagan takes a nap everyday right after lunch and sleeps anywhere from 1.5-3 hours. Its nice. I usually take a nap at that time too.

calbury replied: I've been lucky - 3 of mine slept for 2-3 hours in the afternoons until they were four and my youngest (age 2) is heading the same way.

They only slept like that if they were at home in their own beds, they've never been good at falling asleep in their pushchairs. But it's always suited me, you can get a lot done in 2 hours!

Lexismama replied: I dont know what I would do without nap time!!!! Alexis gets up at 9-10 (usually) and sleeps for 2.5-4.5 hours in the afternoon and is back in bed at about 10. I am a very very lucky mama

Tylersmommy replied: yep 2-3 hours a day
