Does it have to be freezing while sleeping?

My DH has to have it as cold as possible in the room, he sleeps better that way. I use a down blanket, so much of it I do not feel. But the entire house is freezing when I get up. He is great about turning off the ceiling fan in the room, when he gets up early. We had a stand fan in the room for a while, and took it out ( ), so he is considerate when it comes to my comfort when I get up later on.
Does anyone else have to have it cooollldddd in order to get the optimal level of sleep?

My3LilMonkeys replied: I love for my bedroom to be cold so I can snuggle under blankets . I'm still waiting for the invention that will automatically warm the room as soon as I get out of bed though.

Lately with my hormones being out of whack (And why do I still thank God for Depo??? I wonder) - I go from sweating to freezing in a matter of minutes. And so I keep it downright freezing at night. Poor Andrew & Andy tend to wake up really cold.
mckayleesmom replied: I have to have it really cool too.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I like it to be cold while I'm sleeping - we're planning on turning the thermostat down to 60 degrees at night this winter. We started out doing that last year but it got too cold for Andrew - this year we have a space heater for his room.
I don't like it to be freezing when we get up in the morning though... we'll probably program it to warm up to 66 or 68 about an hour before we get up.
JP&KJMOM replied: DH likes it cold and to have a fan. I can stand the fan but he gives and let the thermostat be a little warmer as long as he has a fan. I get up first in the am so I usually adjust the temp on the thermostat so everyone else can be comfortable when they get up.
DillsMommy replied: I sleep best when it's cold. We've been leaving the widow cracked at night. And I got to have a fan on. Not so much for the air, but for the noise. I sleep like a baby then.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It has to be a meat locker in our room for me to sleep. Otherwise I get sick and can't sleep.
luvmykids replied: I like it in the middle, I like it cool enough to actually need the covers but I don't like having a cold nose.
redchief replied: ...And she wears full fleece, a parka, and triple long-johns (okay, so I'm kidding a little) and it's very difficult to confirm there is a live person under all of those blankets and clothing.

Thanks everyone! It could be fairly warm (though I cannot sleep with the heater on) warm, just slightly cool- but not freezing like my DH likes.
